I'd prefer a cheaper capture card, the cheaper the better, but I still want it to be good quality. I've heard of Elgato and Roxio being good quality, but I've never checked them out, thanks for the help!

I have wanted to get into the world of Speedrunning for a while now, but have never got around to do it, I mainly play games on my Switch, so I was wondering, what's the best way to record Switch footage for longer than 30 seconds or on games that don't support capturing? and what's the cheapest way to do so? Hi there, I want to get into the world of speedrunning for a while now but OBS continues to not work for me. It doesn't matter what I'm recording (Game, Display, etc), it records it, but it is very slow, the audio is perfect, but the frames are so slow and it skips around 85% of the frames and just pauses on the ones it doesn't skip. I don't know what causes this but I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I am on a Laptop without much power, and that it can't handle much at all. Any advice?

So I was looking at a few speedruns for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and when I hover over the name of the Speedrunner it shows a message such as "~30 mistakes still I believe" or something like that. This only shows up with certain runs, how do you set these on your runs?

I know how to add one of the "badges" next to your username, but what's allowed in the badges? For example; would I be allowed to use one of the placement icons found on games, would I be allowed to use the speedrun.com logo, would I be allowed to use gifs? I haven't set an icon for my profile because I don't know what's allowed and what's not.
