If you right click on Livesplit > Settings, you can set your Start and Reset keys, and I think you also have to check "Global Hotkeys". Then, when you click "New Game" in game, you can just hit your Start key at the same time.

Also, we added some rules very recently to keep in mind, which are 1) the game's framerate must be 165 fps or lower, and 2) you must show FPS in your recording. In Steam settings > In Game, make sure "In-game FPS counter" is not "Off", and in OBS, when doing a game capture, make sure "Capture third-party overlays (such as steam)" is checked.

That’s a tricky question. The game does have a 540FPS cap, so you can’t get unlimited FPS. And the game isn’t graphically intense so the cap shouldn’t be too hard to reach.

The issue is with other console platforms, since I don’t know what FPS they run at and if they would be at a disadvantage. And if we do have a cap, how do we enforce that?

Here's a demonstration of the boost on the Bard elevator. On lower FPS I can boost sideways, but on uncapped FPS I have difficulty doing that and it usually just sends me backwards.

Since it's possible to do on this elevator, "stairboosting" might not be the correct term for this, but I dunno what to call it.

I did some testing, and it is unfortunately related to FPS. Below are clips recorded at 165 FPS and 540 FPS (the cap for the game):

@Thedoczek No advantage since you can't seem to boost forwards towards the exit. It's done by just holding a direction while going up the elevator

I used this in my run as well. There are a couple of other places where you can get a big boost:

• Exiting the elevator between the Warrior and Bard area

• The cafeteria room with the clock (going down the stairs when entering)

I don't think we need to worry too much about new submissions to cyberscore, since most of the submissions are pretty old, though there were 2 times added just a couple of months ago. If we do add the cyberscore times, we can just periodically check the scoreboard, since it also shows the date of the most recent submission.

I think the main problem is that that most of the times don't have any type of proof. I think you're the only one who actually shows their run in a Youtube video, while pretty much all the other times don't even have a picture as proof. I personally think that there should be a video for all IL runs (or at the very least a picture showing the time), so I'm against adding the cyberscore times to speedrun.com.

I'm pretty interested in running this game, but one thing I noticed is that the console's load times are faster. The loading screen between races takes ~5 s on console, but ~10-12s on emulator, which can quickly add up. Is there a way to use in-game time instead (for example, adding up the lap times)?

That link is also expired. I think if you go into Advanced Settings during Instant Invite, you can set the expire timer to "never".

It seems like the only way to enable windowed mode is to use DxWnd, though I haven't tried it myself. There might be programs out there that can also force windows to stay on top if you prefer that. I personally use two monitors, so I don't have much experience with this.
