was wondering if theres a discord of if anyone can help me get this autosplitter/load remover working. its downloaded and activated but whenever i switch to compare to game time the timer is just stuck at 0 unless it just doesnt work for 1.2.4. was also wondering if theres any advantage to running ending 1 soldier on 1.1 because i havent been able to get the downpatching to work either lol. cheers
just kill yourself right before you kill the boss, then you can practice over and over again. when your fight bowser and grab the hat for the 3rd time jump off the map when you get on top of the broodle mech for the last gorundpound, jump off and kill yourself when your fighting the metro robot thingo, when it goes purple the second time and your about to kill it, just die or load a different save.
really every boss costs time for missing a cycle, i would say broodle mech for sure costs the most time, bowser himself isnt too bad and the metro robot thing (don't remember its name lol) is probably in between. I've spent about an hour practicing each (for example on the bowser fight i just kill myself when i pick up the third hat so i can try again). also i don't know if it was mentioned but i also like to practice moon skip and the bowser fight before every run (i have a moon kingdom and a cloud kingdom save)
i'm not sure what your splits were like but watch some of the world records, make sure your doing the right routes, practise the jumps that you might be failing (night metro jump, sand kingdom has a lot of time save and a few tricky jumps). the first bowser fight takes only a minute not even if you do it right so practice that if you haven't. when i was first running the game i was using "witwix's" speedrun as a reference on how to do it as its not super optimized but still pretty solid and easy to learn (his time is about 1:17:00) hope that helps
i watched a few runs and 100% the game before doing my first run which i think was about 1:40:00. Been running for a month and just got a pb of 1:15:36 (sadly though i dont have a capture card). fair amount of practice though, lost kingdom jump, bowser fights, mech, moon skip, even the night metro jumps.
i just watched witwix's speedrun of 1:17, doesnt have a lot of the complicated tricks and is probably a lot easier to follow when learning
this video was really helpful for me, it can be a bit confusing but watch it a few times and just practice it over and over until you figure it out
if your gonna speedrun on xbox you can livestream on twitch then submit the vod
i want to start speedrunning this on my ps4 but no matter what i do i cant seem to delete the save data. ive deleted the online and conosle data, reinstalled the game but my save data keeps coming back
Swiftzei's all bosses simple run was submitted as w/o loads even though the linked video even says "with loads". Arathoxs's regular all bosses had a mod change the w/o times to the same as with load time. I don't know how mod edits work but seems a bit odd unless you cant remove times. Not a big deal or anything but i just thought it was something to point out sorry
I'm not entirely sure where to post this sorry or if/how i can contact mods, and its more of a little thing that grinds my gears but I've noticed a couple of incorrect submissions when it comes to times (w/o or with loads). all you have to do is submit your time as "w/o loads" and you pass everyone of the leader boards submitting with loads even if its slower. Not a big deal and i don't want to be causing a hassle but yknow.
started running cuphead a few days ago on xbox one, just wondering how i can sumbit runs due to the lack of timer to make the runs applicable
