I just bought it on Steam. Trying to figure out how to set it up for streaming alongside a split.

I will admit I am not to knowledgeable about Steam, but trying to set up a controller to use with it now. The no Graffiti cam already sounds 100x better.

Thank you everyone! I already own the dreamcast version, but I wasn't sure if it was worth it to run seeing as only two people ran it, one which is 10 years old.

What levels are missing exactly? Is there any other major changes like that, say like stage design or anything?

I'll have to hit up that discord for sure. Need to check out the steam version and see if my laptop is okay with that.

Why does no one seem to run this on Dreamcast? I wanted to run the game, currently own the original Dreamcast (Jet Grind Radio) Release and was wondering if it's worth it to run there, or should I Try to track down a Japanese version or perhaps PC instead?

Thank you, any input/information is very helpful.

What is your preference? I've sunk 400 hours into this game with it off, so that's my preference. I think gyro could be useful for speed runs , but may not be needed.

Thoughts on this? Debating if I should relearn it for speed running.

I'll have to compare and try a few different things. Is it possible to triple jump when not holding the control stick all the way to the side? Maybe I'll have to just practice it on a different flat surface for a bit.

Oh wow, I never knew that. I've been just using the Wii Remote for spinning the whole game. I originally was running it as Mario, but I switched to Luigi because I prefer him in general. Still trying to learn about a lot of things. I've been watching your runs to study and try to improve.

Originally I Was running it on my CRT TV so I was sticking to 4:3, but recently I got component cables so it looks way better on my HD TV. I just need to get a new capture device for component.. unless I find something to record with HDMI..

Thank you. I'll have to make a discord. :) Appreciate all the help.

First of all, does it matter if I run it in widescreen or 4:3? Figured I would ask so I can do it in the better format.

Second of all, any tips for doing the triple jump skip on Megaleg's moon? Not sure if I'm just not getting enough speed or going too fast.

I either run too far and miss the third jump, or I don't get the triple jump because I'm not running fast enough.

Lastly, is the discord actually used often? I don't have discord but I thought about getting it if it was used often.

Been practicing on and off for a while now, but trying to get into it again.

Maybe I will do the easy mode one first for laughs and try to take it while warming up. Then work my way up through the difficulties. It's cool to see people are interested in running it. Most other games I like no one runs or they are way too run.. But this feels just right.

I'll have to study some videos and see what I can remember. For the most part I think there was only a few stages that I forgot their gimmicks for so I'd just have to play them a few times. Then again. Who knows what tricks I don't know about yet.

I'm excited to make it to normal and hard. Last I remember from playing was I could get all gold in hard besides the last stages because I never practiced it, was just going for the psn trophy. I actually have the Japanese guide which shows level designs, but I'm not sure how useful it will be.

Thanks for the last tip. I'll have to keep that in mind. I can't remember if I knew that back then. I believe I never held things down because I never wanted to over commit and make a wrong move in hard. I'll look up that user and check out his videos.

Thank you for the advice. :)

Thank you, I greatly appreciate the reply.

I've never actually played easy mode, so I've never been sure of the differences to be honest. Maybe I'll play through it and check it out. Also never thought about the network thing, I'll have to keep that in mind. I guess I'll study the 9-4 and see if it's worth playing the Japanese version or if I'll submit and just go English.

I figure I'll practice on the side and see how much I can remember. I was really into this in 2012, but it's been a year since I've done a full play through. Just seems like a fun game to run.

Once again, thank you for all your help. ☆☆☆

I want to start practicing and running this game but I noticed there wasn't much information here about advice and tips so I figured I would ask.

I have beat the game several times so I am familiar with it. Was Hoping someone would be willing to give any speed run essential tips. I can't watch any of the runs because I'm at work, but forums are okay. So here is a few questions I have..

  1. What's the 9-4 undo thing I've heard about? Does it save a lot of time? ( I have the Japanese version so Undo is not a thing, if I need it I can switch to US)

  2. Is it better to drink for the speed or to play sober because the drinking takes more time with tips?

  3. Why is the easy mode run longer than the normal?

  4. Does it matter how I answer the questions between stages or does it not really matter? (I just was gonna choose the right option each time)

  5. Any other tips for a new runner that I should be aware about?

Sorry for the long post, I'm just really interested in running this and want to be prepared.

Oh okay, thank you. If worst comes to worst I can do the english one. it'll still be a bit, need to practice more.

I haven't seen anything about it but I figured I would ask.... Is there any difference between the Japanese and English released besides the Normal mode no Undo for Japanese? I want to rerun it and I own the Japanese version. Would I be able to submit a run just fine? I think the level layouts are the same.

If anyone know anything please let me know.
