It probably doesn't work on the anthology disc collection; probably because 1. it isn't updated to 1.106 (the latest version you can get from the site) 2. the disc version has a special version that fixes the bug (which I wouldn't doubt Bethesda would do).

You can get the free version (which contains the bug for sure) from here: http://elderscrolls.com/arena

You have to install DOSbox on your own and install it using the guide that comes with it.

Or, you can get it from puri_puri here: http://3fg-inc.com/SpeedrunStuff/TES/Arena/TES%20Arena%201.07.zip

Aparently this is version 1.07, which I didn't even know existed.

Well, I did give you my Steam. If I have to, I will try to get Discord working but I'd like to avoid it.

I don't see why we can't talk here. But if you really want to, you can friend me on Steam.

I do have discord, but it crashes a lot, can you tell me here?

My route is this;

  1. Get keycard/Gas Mask (that image I posted is old, I added the Gas Mask to list)

  2. Upgrade both with SCP-914

  3. Get through certain areas in the zones, and disable the door control.

  4. Talk to SCP-079

  5. Re-enable control

  6. Hulk it to Gate A.

Everything is /relatively/ close together, so it doesn't seem bad for a random seed I made up. Since you used 0.9.3, I don't think you had to do that door control stuff, you could just sprint to Gate A. v1.0+ (if I remember correctly) forces you to go through the door control stuff like Gate B.

Oh good, I was curious if I was forced to stick to the seed you did. But I'm happy that I don't.

Also, do I have to use the special splits file you uploaded? Cause I made my own, but I was curious on whether I should use yours.

Here's what it looks like;

I don't really know if I should post this here, but it couldn't hurt.

To cut this short; I've wanted to start trying to speed-run games for a while, so I wanted to start with SCP - Containment Breach, a game I've been following for a long time. I looked through all the sections, and the rules seemed simple enough, but there's one thing that bothered me in the guides section, and it's the restriction of the game version, and seed. I really want to know if I am forced to obey this;

"Until a new seed is discovered, you should run the game on version 0.9.3 using the seed e69cs8k and following these steps.",

and if I was forced to obey the guide.

I really want to speed-run the game on v1.2.3, and with the seed "SP33DRUN", without the quotes.

From doing my first run with the game (and doing a small check-around on god-mode), it seems like a perfectly good seed to run.

Now, of course I will go to 0.9.3 if I /HAVE/ to, but it just seems more convenient to run the version of the game I have (so I won't have to download another version just for speed-running), and to run with this perfectly fine seed too.

If need-be, I can write a guide and upload my splits with my layout to this section so anyone else could use my method. Though, I would need to update it consistently since with every new update, seeds for the game change (even if they remain constant).

So....am I?
