Hello there, @ItsTowersss! Welcome to the BF2 community!

For the Instant Action maps you are allowed to use the bonuses provided by the game. You can check more about bonuses/awards on this page: https://battlefront.fandom.com/wiki/Awards . Basically it increases your damage, defense, energy restorarion, etc.

But you don't have to grind for all bonuses if you don't want to. You can download a profile with all rewards at our Resource page (https://www.speedrun.com/swbf2/resources). Just scroll down until you find Save Data for Award weapons. You can find instructions to add it to your game below the download link there (if you are playing on steam).

About the Load Time Remover, it's not a requirement so you don't have to worry that much about it. It does help you timing and comparing your pace overtime more accurate, but recording without it is completly fine.

Feel free to join our discord as well, you can find some interesting discussions there and have an easier chat with everyone! You can find the link in the game info on this page.

Have fun there!

Hello there! Welcome to the swbf2 speedrun community!

It's probably ok to run on PSP. We have some console runs (on xbox) and I don't see why psp shouldn't be allowed as well. But that just my humble opinion, only a mod will be able to give you a proper answer (which doesn't mean you can't do runs in the meantime)

I just updated the original post to include some images with the trigger. Now it should be much better :)

@cevrosa yeah, I do think Mygeeto's RRT is more about the consistency than timesaving. I'm definally using it on any% runs, but I might stick with the infinte sprint for IL. It could be quite usefull on console as they don't have infinte sprint, but I don't know how fast can people run through menus there.

Death Star, on other hand, is indeed an useful (and quite easy) one.

@CernelTeneb I did get a really fast menuing + inf sprint with RRT once, but I didn't record (in my defense, I thought I was ahhaha). It does match with the first try inf sprint. I may try it again someday and compare it with the actual good spawn+infinte sprint. However, a really fast menuing + optimized RRT + infinte sprint at the end isn't that consistent 🙁

I was messing up with the game having some fun until a crazy idea just popped in my head and... it worked.

I won't claim to be the first to realize you could use the Remote Rocket Laucher (Demolition bonus) to trigger events as I was told on our community discord, after I mentioned my findings, that someone had already gave it a go in the past, but at the time no use was found.

Now, lets talk about the tech I just (for now) named Remote Rocket Trigger (RRT)

The way I see it, the remote rocket is set as a Starfighter (as you can also verify in the com_weap_award_rocket_launcher_ord.odf file), which allows you to use it to trigger events that only the player should.

I've already found two maps where it this tech could help on <Any% w/Bonuses> and <All Missions w/Bonuses>:

You can use it as soon as you start Mygeeto so you can unlock CP4, which is way closer to CP3 (the one you have to capture). It can save 8 to 10 seconds in most cases when comparing to failing all infinte sprint attempts. If you can go really fast on menus, it may be even possible to come really close to a first-try infinte sprint. This strat can be really reliabe if you are going for PBs and not trying a IL WR

  1. Spawn as Heavy
  2. Quick swap your main weapon to Remote Rocket Laucher
  3. Shoot it at CP3 direction
  4. TUUUUUUUUURBOOOOO
  5. Make it cross the trigger line (see images below)
  6. Respawn at CP4

Thanks to @Neveryear now we can see exactly where the trigger is. As long as the rocket enters this purple zone, it will work.

You don't have to make the rocket touch the ground, as long as you cross the trigger line. Anything below the max height should work. You don't have to wait until the camera is back to your character. As soon as trigger is fired, you can already respawn. Sub 2min may not be possible with it, but you do get reeeeeeeaaaaally close and with way more consistency

RRT can be used to trigger the second objective, which could only be done by walking all the way down to the hangar. It saves a couple seconds.

  1. Spawn as Heavy
  2. Quick swap your main weapon to Remote Rocket Laucher
  3. Go to the window
  4. Wait until the Objective screen pop up
  5. Fire it!

The purple box represents the trigger area. As long as the rocket enter this zone after the objective pops up, you should be fine.

After doing it, you can follow one of these 3 paths: 1. Menu+Respawn+pick another class

  • I don't like this one that much because it requires pausing, which can make that time save not even work.
  • It does allow you to not even run downstairs as you can spawn in the hangar, but there is no point in doing so as it's a autoscroller event.

2. Swap class without respawning

  • Much better if you rather playing with another class, you just need to hug a CP marker and do as you wish.

3. Stay with heavy

  • Personal preference. Heavy can do the job just like any other in this objective as it's just a simple autoscroller

Video showing the use off RRT on both maps (note that my piloting skill wasn't the best there, there is some room for optimization) The trigger line shown on Mygeeto is outdated, the accurate one can be found in the Mygeeto section above.

Video with a side-by-side comparison of RRT on both maps. Mygeeto RRT (9twhosaysit) x Mygeeto first try infinte sprint (lako3000) Death Star RRT (9twhosaysit) x Death Star (9twhosaysit)

Edit: Formatting Edit2: Added more accurate images showing the trigger
