I saw some runs that are still using the grenade fall cancel in the England chapter There is a simple way to pass there w/o using a grenade (and RNG, hoping for your grenade to push you on a platform) : the grapple fall cancel :-) It has been explained to me by Cadarev, it works this way (and on all platforms) :

1. hold a weapon
2. Jump forward w/ it (do a front flip)
3. Switch weapon while falling
4. Grapple

You will avoid your fall after that, so using this technique, you can avoid the damages in England, and that faster than the grenade fall cancel. Other places where you can use it : Peru (arriving in the boulders room) ; Peru (escaping from the boulders room) ; England and Nepal (to skip the slides (jump through the textures to arrive at the beginning of the ice cave).
