Glitchless categories have now been added to the board! Many runners have already been running various glitchless categories for quite a while; so just as a general reminder for old and new runners alike, before you submit please take some time to review the new ruleset under Show Rules -> Category Rules, and check your run to make sure it follows the requirements of "glitchless" that have been decided upon by the community.

A few other notes:

• If you are submitting an old run, make sure the date you fill out is the date you completed the run, not the date of submission; this will help to keep WR histories accurate.

• Different versions are represented by filters on Glitchless boards, so feel free to run on whichever version you have access to.

-If you are looking for Glitchless Category Extensions, you can find them on the CE board linked above.

We have a special announcement: this month we are holding a Halloween speedrun competition!

Trick-or-Treat Kostume (T.o.t.K.) Challenge

To complete the Challenge, the following conditions must be met:

1. Start inside Zelda’s house in Hateno Village, after waking up from the bed.

2. Collect the ingredients for, and cook, 5 Honey Candy.

3. Take a selfie with Link wearing each of the following monster masks, with at least 1 of the corresponding monster in frame:

-Bokoblin

-Lizalfos

-Moblin

-Horriblin

-Lynel

4. Before or after the picture is taken, eat 1 Honey Candy with each type of monster.

5. Return to Zelda’s house and sleep in the bed.

Rules:

• Runs can be performed on any game version, with any amount of game completion.

• Runs must be Glitchless. (Mozdor jumps, crouch/throw sprinting, and Tulin momentum are allowed.)

• Timing starts on the first frame of player input after waking up, and ends on the fade to black after falling asleep.

• It is permitted to have ingredients for candy in the inventory before the run, but at least 5 of the ingredients must be obtained after the run has started.

• Speed/stamina food prep is allowed.

• Use of Travel Medallions is allowed, but must be placed after the run has started.

• When taking the picture, you must be close enough to the monster that it would aggro without the mask.

• Monsters can be visited in any order.

• All other standard verification rules apply (excluding fresh boot and version number).

Submissions:

We have opened a channel in Discord for contest discussion. Runs can be sent to cloudedsr@gmail.com or by DM to @cloudedsr. Please include Discord username, run time, and video link. (If you are not on Discord, please use speedrun.com username instead.) Once verified, runs will be updated to a leaderboard on Google Sheets, where you can see the current rankings.

The contest begins immediately and will accept submissions until October 31st, 11:59 PM EST (GMT -5). 1st Place will receive a special Discord role commemorating the event.
