I have two questions on the pittsburgh skip:
1st: My game crashed 1-3 seconds after I hit the checkpoint - any reasons for this?
2nd: After hitting the checkpoint: Sometimes you have a 30 seconds loading screen and sometimes you don't have any loading screen. This loading stream is a big timeloss I think. Does anyone know when the loading screen appears and when not?
1: Nope, happens to me as well once in a while 2: No clue. It's weird. On the first downtown skip, if I fail, I have to let myself die to prevent a loading screen. If I reset before I die, I have a huge loading screen.
Hey guys, awesome job with all this glitch finding! I'm really impressed and excited that this game is coming along like it is. I beat this game a while ago but recently thought it'd be a lot of fun to get into speedrunning it. Just wanted to introduce myself and I hope I can be a productive member of this community! Keep on doing what you're doing and please forgive me if I have to ask a few nooby questions to get into the swing of things
Thanks! I'm alright with some annoyances haha. First noob question, I've only played through the game once fully so I don't have all my gear upgraded yet. What should I prioritize for speedrunning purposes? Also fyi I'm into the glitchy side of running (oobs, skips, despawns all that good stuff)
I learned it by just running and setting times via livesplit. Once glitches were found, i integrated those. Id recommend setting up splits (via livesplit or wsplit) and just start running, getting the basics of the game, practice a few settings. Once you score a few times on your splits, you can try and beat them.
Oh yeah my bad guys, I didn't realize I was posting this in the skips/glitch thread! I figured it'd be the most active one lol. I'm really into glitch hunting, so I'm pumped to check out the non-glitched sections to find out if there are some nice skips. I think for the short term I'm going to prioritize this over doing full runs. Though I'll probably do a casual run or two to set up my NG+ file.
Also, I'm running on PS4, how do I stream/record with splits? Can you get livesplit on PS4?
They mean pushing the left trigger forward. Guys, L3 is the button under the trigger, meaning you have to press the left trigger.
As of 30th November 2023, New Game runs for The Last of Us/The Last of Us: Remastered must use default skins and are not allowed to have activated costum skins/backpacks/etc.
We found out that costum skins potentially change the appearances of soundglitches, which also influences the loadtimes.
