I want to play some old Sonic games (1,2,3,SnK, etc) I wanted to use a good PC emulator. Any suggestions? I want to get something that is as close to the Sega as an emulator can be, and I don't want viruses either haha. This will make it a lot easier for me to stream haha

Ok so I found the Fusion emulator, but i'm confused as to how you go about getting games for it???

technically speaking emulators are frowned at because of the somewhat illegal nature of them, tho in some cases people use them as a way to play and record a game that own physically but have no way to record it normally.

But emulators are still accepted for allot of games for runs of separate categories.
As for emulators in generally I don't really have en experience with them nor do I like the idea of trying to trust random DL's for Roms etc. rather just invest on actual hardware and the game and the equipment to play and record it.

Well there's a place right up the road that sells old games and I'm like 80% sure they'll have a genesis and at least Sonic 2 (my fav), so if I hook that up to my TV and use my HDMI cable and run it from my tv to my laptop, will I be able to stream like that? Kinda new to the streaming thing 😱

no you need a capture card or a device that can reroute the signal to a computer to record or stream with.
There are plenty of guides and tutorials around with some simple searching that can help you get started in knowing what is needed and what you can do.

I have used Fusion in the past. It usually worked pretty well. I found coolrom is a good place to get roms but be carefully when downloading as ads will attempt to make you install crap. Just monitor your installed programs list. Otherwise Ebay usually has genesis systems and sonic games. Good Luck!

I got my Genesis today and luckily enough they had a copy of both Sonic 2 AND Sonic 3! Now I just need to wait a paycheck or two before nabbing a capture card before I'm able to stream my learning process 🙂.
