Games that are endless are highly unlikely to be added.
There were some added in the past but since then rules have gotten stricter.
Now most games requested with goals like "get 10,000 score" or "reach level 100" are not accepted as there is no real end-goal to reach.
There is also this great category on the Cookie Clicker CE where you simply clicker 10,000 times https://www.speedrun.com/cclickermemes#10000_Left_Clicks
@jojoretrogamer most series nowadays are being made without mods as we had issues in the past with people who had the series mod perms abusing them. So we take more care in which series gets mods and which don't.
Like Laxxus mentioned, speedrunning is open to just about every game out there while High Scores are not.
But also, speedrunning gets a lot more publicity then high scores what with AGDQ, other events, famous twitch/youtuber making content on it.
I use to do a decent bit with High Scores as well, and knew a couple people in the community. Some of the more popular sites for High Scores is http://highscore.com/ https://cyberscore.me.uk/
If you look around on there you'll see a lot of people who do enjoy going for high scores
It's like mentioned above, it seems like speedrunning is more popular since this site is for speedrunning, but high scores are still something that a lot of people go for and actively try to improve with.
I've done a lot of runs, and a lot were good. However there were also a lot of bad ones.
Worst Game - I'd have to say Seterra, it just wasn't very fun to run for me and I quickly stopped going for runs in it.
Worst Category - Math vs Monsters 10000% - I have not done a full run of this category yet and may never do it. It was a meme category we made in which you beat the ~30 second game Math vs Monsters 100 times in a row. The record at the moment is just over an hour.
it's simply an issue of there being a lot of games which also have the characters "raft" in their name that are more popular on the site (namely minecRAFT for one) However at the bottom of the list on the search if you click the more option it does show up there.
“Yes but if he has not answered me this week, he will not answer me later.”
For other things on the site we normally have people wait up to 3 weeks of someone not responding to them before they request moderation changes because sometimes people get busy (or are like me and only check their twitter when someone tells them about a tweet to look at)
I honestly really like the new home page, sure the opinions section takes up a bit too much room, but it still looks nice and it still makes sense where everything is.
Also going off of what @Kai. and @diggity had mentioned, ELO Does still go over the feedback thread and most other threads on the site (mainly stickies) However they do not respond as often, then move the suggestions and feedback to the background team that works on the site to get some stuff moving as quickly and efficiently as possible. But like most things, updates take time to make and to fix all the bugs out.
@ElTreago Can you DM me on site about this? I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. @WhatsFrog Done @Kai. Done @TheMaster DM'd on site @Garsh Done @whiggy69 please submit a CE request through the game request page @HiPeRDustY please submit a CE request through the game request page. And marked as Mobile @noxiousnick fixed @Livelyraccoon Done
As mentioned already by others above, the requirements for a series have gotten stricter as time went on, and we no longer make a series based off of developers, only games that are an actual series of games. At first when I saw this post I wanted to look and see how many "Hipster Whale" Games were on the site to see why a series may have been denied, but I couldn't find any games called Hipster Whale or any of your runs that would match it, it was only after that I realized it was a developer not a game title. But yes, series requests have gotten more strict as well as game requests, since the mods of those can do certain things to bypass other things and also just as a way to keep the site de-cluttered. Also the other 2 examples you gave of series were approved because the games follow a series and do not just share a developer.
Try DMing the moderator on something like discord or Twitter if they've been off site for a while. If after a week or two they don't respond then you can post a request for moderation of the game here: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/dueac
@SioN but if it's being rejected for being obsolete that means they would already have a better time on the leaderboard, so that run is not a PB, just a normal run. So it really does nothing for progression and history of the game to have that run there, it would just be submitting every run you ever did to the leaderboard.
Luigi's Mansion, they're going to try and showcase a new trick so I can't wait :D
also these sort of questions should be posted to the Minecraft game forums and not the site forums
In regards to MC Classic, as said above it was added by a series moderator a little while ago which site staff have no control over.
As for Atari games, I actually had replied to a thread about that a little while ago which you can find here: https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/aztst And going on that, Atari 2600 is my favorite console ever made, followed closely by the GameCube, but the Atari 2600 is amazing in my opinion and all the games on it are not simply "low quality" and "able to be beaten in 5-10 minutes" Most Atari 2600 games are high score based and should not be on the site, however they were accepted under older rules regarding game requests. Some Atari 2600 games, like Dragster and Barnstorming for examples, are short games, but have huge followings in not only speedrunning but in high score communities as well.
But again, those games were added under previous rules and could possibly be denied now if they were requested.
