1.1 Downpatch Guide

Extract the folder, then go in the folder and make a text file. Open it and put in this:

Replace YOURSTEAMUSERNAME and YOURSTEAMPASSWORD with your Steam username and password. Then save the file and change the filetype to a .bat file. Then, double click on that .bat file to run the script.

When the black cmd prompt screen appears, it will attempt to login with your credentials and ask for a 2FA code if you have one set up. Type in the code and press enter, then it should start downloading the files. The files will be saved in depotdownloader-2.4.4\depots\874261\7277122

You can then create a shortcut to the .exe on your desktop, or within Steam itself by clicking the "Add a non-Steam game to your library" menu option. 

The game will have all your save files and settings from your main game.

Catacombs Clip 1st Out of Bounds (OoB) Setup

Try to wedge yourself into the corner by looking at the torch and pressing back and right. Position your cursor so it's right in the middle of where the pieces of metal on the torch intersect. Then, while sprinting, press forward shortly followed by jump, in a swift motion. You should climb up.

Then crouch and work your way around the slightly protruding invisible wall and fall into the water.

Catacombs Clip 2nd Out of Bounds (OoB) Setup

NOTE: Only works in v1.0-1.1

Find the piece of rubble on the ground that I point at. Stand on top of it, then inch yourself left until you're through the wall. Keep inching until you can see the rock through the other side. Try to position your mouse to look at the black smudge in the top-middle of the rock. Then, hold forward, followed shortly by jump. (The timing is slightly different than the first OoB setup, you'll want a smidge more speed.) Don't forget, you need to hold forward and jump in order to climb up, but stop holding them once you're sure you're climbing, otherwise you might fall back off.

You should now be on "top" of the rock, but not quite the tippy top.  We're sort of inside the rock, but can still climb up to the top with some repositioning. First, hold right until you're fully against the brick wall. Then, jump and press forward (in that order) and you should climb up to the tippy top of the rock. (If you press forward first, you'll fall into the rock and get stuck. There's a rock to the left you can climb up which should get you out.)

Then just jump towards the brick ceiling and you should climb up.

Duli Upper Cistern Key Swipe

Standing off to the right of Duli's jail cell door, there's a spot where you can "Talk" to him. If you're pushed all the way up against the cell, you can shoot (bow or gun) through the wall and quickly grab the key. However, in v1.1, only certain idle animations will let you grab the key from him, and his normal slouching animation is not one of them. (In v1.2, you can kill him in any(?) animation.) 

You can either:

1. Talk to him first, then quickly exit the dialogue. While he's standing up somewhat straight, you can shoot him.

2. Point the bow at him from the side and draw an arrow. He will stand up straight and start tuning towards you. During the standing or turning, you can shoot him, but not while he's cowering from the bow.

3. Save and reload, then pause as soon as the loading completes (but the screen is still black.) Wait for the black screen to go away, and you should notice that Duli is standing in a neutral pose instead of slouching. Then unpause, quickly equip your gun and shoot him + loot. (Bow is too slow.)

Palace Sequence Break

Photo Jump

Press the photo mode button (default P) just as you're about to land to negate fall damage. Very tight window to hit the button. If you hit it too early, photo mode will come out but you'll still take fall damage. Too late, and you'll take damage but photo mode won't come out.

Roman Plaque Climb

Run at the pots full speed and hold forward and jump to "climb" up them. The angle you want to climb up here is reasonably forgiving, and depends on where exactly you're standing on the pots, so there's a couple visual cues you can use. But once you have an angle similar to mine in the video, while sprinting, press forward followed very shortly by jump and you should climb up. Then just jump from there over the wall.

Shrine of Diana Door Unload

NOTE: Only works in v1.0-1.1

After getting the fake gold leaf bow from Desius, enter the bathhouse loading zone and immediately exit. If you then enter the Shrine of Diana and hit the trigger that normally locks the doors, the doors will instead unload, allowing you to walk straight out with the golden bow.

Only works if you enter the bathhouse AFTER getting the gold leaf bow. 

Also, note: Bathhouse load is not the only loading zone that causes the Diana Doors to break. Lower Cistern and Upper Palace loading zones also do it (using LC is about the same time loss as Bath). Hermit loading zone does not break the doors for some reason.

Shrine of Diana Early (Georgius Manipulation)

NOTE: Probably only works in v1.0-1.1. NPCs will walk through you if you block them for too long, but talking to them might reset timer? Haven't tested.

By blocking Georgius' pathing to make him walk certain directions, and talking to pause him/reposition/have him recalculate his path, he can be manipulated to walking into the locked door at the Shrine of Diana. If you talk to him while he's standing in the door, you have ~2 seconds to run in, hit the "door lock" trigger, and get out. This will cause Desius to think you're in the shrine and trigger the "there's a wasp nest in there" dialogue, which will equip you a temporary gold bow.

After this, you can then go get the wooden bow, then talk to Desius to have him give you the fake gold leaf bow. Then you can walk in to the Shrine of Diana, get the real gold bow, and walk out without the door locking behind you.

Temple Skip

Text guide:

The loading zones for the temple extend slightly outside the temple walls to the outside, and can be touched by having your camera at a specific camera angle range. (Yes, it is camera angle dependent.)

1. To start, climb up to the temple on the right side (the side closest to the Shrine of Proserpina). You'll want to get wedged in between the 3rd pillar and the wall, on the side closer to the 4th pillar (see image.) (Note: Do NOT walk sideways into this corner, or else the loading zone we need will likely not load properly in the future step. Walk headon into the corner, then you can start setting up the next step.)

2. Next, we'll setup the camera angle. Try to line your cursor up with the black smudge I have circled in the image below. This isn't an extremely strict angle, as long as your horizontal camera angle is within the blue lines (see image, approximation). Feel free to find your own visual marker.

At this point, you should be setup to do the trick. I strongly recommend quicksaving so you can experiment. We're going to experiment to make sure the angle works before we get to the hard part.

3. To test that your angle works, hold shift (sprint), W (forward) and D (right) and you should hit the loading zone and start falling into space. If you don't start falling into space:

   a. Try walking straight into the corner from step 1 again; face the corner between the pillar and the wall, and walk straight into it. Then, check:
   b. Try adjusting your camera angle slightly. Move it slightly to the left/right, then quicksave and test it. Try to keep it within the range shown in the image.

4. Once you've done this a few times, now comes the hard part. If you've loaded into space a few times, you might've noticed a ledge slightly ahead of you, from the floor of the next temple room extending out a bit. We're going to try and jump into the loading zone and reach that ledge.

Just like before, get in the corner, get your camera angle, and hold sprint, W and D. Then, right before you hit the loading zone, jump. There's not really a secret to this part, you just need to get used to the timing. Jump too late, and your jump won't come out as the floor vanishes from the loading zone. Jump too early, and you won't make enough distance to the ledge.

This part is important: Once you make the jump, turn your camera to the right so that it's angled in the empty area between these two pillars (see image). If you don't angle your camera like this, you won't be able to climb up the ledge as the pillars will obstruct you. (Remember, you need to keep holding jump and W in order to climb up the ledge.)

This part requires a lot of practice to get the timing down, but keep trying it and you'll get the muscle memory after doing it enough times.

5. Once you're up on the ledge, just walk to the left and you can get inside the temple through the wall that doesn't have collision (normally the door is open and blocks this part of the wall, hence why the devs didn't notice it).

Temporary Golden Bow

Certain dialogue options cause your character to draw a golden bow, even if your character doesn't have one. However, if you unequip the bow, talk to any character, enter a cutscene (i.e. the time portal), or save and reload, you will lose the bow with no way to get it back.

There are three known ways to get a "Temporary" Golden Bow.

1. In the Egyptian Ruins, in your first conversation with Khabash, right before he drops the Sumerian Plaque, select "Do it and I'll kill you!" and your character will equip a golden bow. (Note: Do not fall into the Sumerian ruins, as you'll need to talk to Khabash again at the end of the ruins, which forces a dialogue and unequips the bow.)

2. (v1.0-1.1 only) Sequence break to Naevia by climbing up on top of the invisible wall to the right of the Palace (see video). https://youtu.be/YcnUyJQzcaU?t=177 

Select any of the dialogue options that say (Draw golden bow). Afterwards, continue the dialogue until you're given the option of "Wait, I can undo this!" and select the option where you can rewind time. (The option to goldify the peeled statue will force another dialogue and thus remove the temp gold bow.)

3. (v1.0-1.1 only) In the Shrine of Diana, after hitting the trigger that normally locks the doors, talking to Desius will trigger the "there's a wasp nest in there" dialogue, which will then equip you with a temp gold bow. It's possible to get in the shrine by manipulating Georgius' pathing at the beginning of the loop. See: https://www.speedrun.com/forgottencity/guide/0wxbd

Also note, since the bow isn't actually in your inventory, you cannot trigger dialogue options that require the golden bow as a prerequisite (ex: scamming Desius for denarii on how he can get his own golden bow).
