Has star dew made it to any gdq events? Curious because I'm going this July and if I'm practiced up possibly running it
The main Problem with Stardew Valley is. That near to no run is "viewer friendly". Most of them is about sleeping and doing something really engaging.
To answer your Question, no Stardew Valley was not at an GDQ, but I don't think that it will make it in there.
Oh we have OOb, but nothing about the most runs is enganging imo. I don't know what viewers think of it, but even for me as a runner it's sometimes boring.
Bundles% would probably work. A bundles% run would show the most amount of glitches.
The main problem with Stardew Valley speedruning is that no specific moment in it is particularly interesting. The only thing that would even move the audience is pumpkin glitch, out of bounds the first time, and paper items. That is about 1 interesting minute throughout a 2+ hour run.
I do think it'd still be good for donation incentives. For instance, highest donator chooses what the character looks like since it doesn't impact gameplay, a donation incentive for naming the player, naming the farm, naming the dog/cat (would sacrifice a bit of time but not too much that it would effect a whole lot), etc.
Alright folks, it's been a week since 1.6 dropped and it's already been a wild start! So many new mechanics, QoL fixes, and general nonsense. We're going to start lifting the embargo here on 1.6 runs, sometime tonight the options should populate on SRC and you'll be able to select the new version. W
