BOUNDS

Off Limits - This is when the character is automatically “Rider Reset” by the game and displays the text “Off Limits”. This can be caused by either a “Reset Barrier” or “Reset Terrain”.

Reset Terrain - Objects or snow that causes “Off Limits” should the player not use techniques to avoid it.

Legal Track - This is any part of the track that can be reached by playing the track normally. This means tracks that can be accessed without going “Off Limits”, avoiding “Reset Barriers”, avoiding “Reset Terrain”, or without utilizing “Stance Dancing” .

Out of Bounds - Being “Out of Bounds” is defined as having no “Legal Track” directly below the character’s Y-Axis regardless of visibility. You are said to be “Out of Bounds” if the rider would never make contact with “Legal Track” should they fall indefinitely. You are considered to be back “In Bounds” when the rider lands on or is directly above “Legal Track”.

Rider Reset - Rider Resetting (May also be referred to as a boarder reset) has the same result as the select warp, the main difference being that it is usually unintentional and is often caused by a reset barrier or another factor such as wiping out.

Reset Barrier - This is an invisible barrier in all tracks that prevent the player from leaving the track by triggering a Rider Reset. Many of these barriers are thin or have poor coverage and can be bypassed in various ways.

MAJOR GLITCHES

Early Exit - This is a glitch that can be performed in any of the peak events, whereby the player intentionally leaves the intended route of the event and finishes in another track other than the event's intended end point.

Lodge Glitch - This is a glitch during a peak event where the player accesses the loading area to the lodge then cancels the dialogue box to reset the in-game timer of the event.

Wormholes - A Wormhole is a glitch where the rider goes “Out of Bounds” then “Select Warps” or “Rider Resets” back on the track significantly further down the track than would be possible in the same time riding normally. Many “Wormholes” involve a form of “Stance Dancing” to prevent the rider from being automatically reset, but not all have this requirement.

[Note: “Out of Bounds” paths that return in bounds without “Rider Resetting” or “Select Warping” are not considered “Wormholes”. Unintended “Out of Bounds” resets (such as accidentally clipping through the snow) are not considered wormholes unless the rider saves time over conventional strategies by being warped down the track when the “Rider Reset” happens”.]

#TECHNIQUES / STRATEGIES Stance Dancing - Stance Dancing is the act of alternating stances by either performing 180s or simply turning the rider to prevent the character from being automatically Rider Reset out of a wormhole.

Nad Wormhole - A subset of wormholes that requires the player to alternate their character’s stance via manually turning the character to avoid being Rider Reset.

Select Warp - Select Warping is the act of intentionally resetting your characters position using the in game command. This is usually done to gain distance faster than a normal route or be positioned better for a specific strategy.

Free Fall Slide - Often referred to as simply a slide, this is an unintended side effect of the games properties of the back of the riders board. By tilting the board back at a specific angle relative to a downward slope the player can effectively fall along the slope at max speed along the ground.

Landers - By pressing Jump and holding jump or inputting a tail press and cancelling it immediately the player can cancel out hard landings preserving speed.

Frame Cancelling - Frame Cancelling is the act of cancelling the ending frames of a trick, uber trick, or monster trick, allowing for faster trick chaining or safer/faster landing. This is usually achieved by quickly double tapping a trick button during the ending frames of a trick.

Rail Glitch - Rail Glitching is a glitch that allows the player to build Combo extremely fast by alternating quickly between tail and nose press inputs while on a rail.

To be added later: Strong Stance Spin Boost Trip Turn

OTHER

Phone Booths - Phone Booths or simply Booths are the three warps in the Metro City event. Although the second warp is technically not a Booth it is still regularly referred to as Second Booth.

Bad Spawn - Both the first and second booth in Metro have two warp locations. The location that is slower of these two is referred to as bad spawn, Bad Booths, or Bad First/Second

Good Spawn - Good spawn, Good Booths, or Good First/Second refers to the faster warp locations in the first and second Booth in Metro City.
