How do you do a consistent stage 1 Link Throw?

I've tried several times now, and link sometimes doesn't go far enough to go off the ledge to jump, nor does he go far enough down to do the attack for him,

Which character are you trying to use? Different characters have different outcomes. (also what difficulty?)

I was trying the DK 5 stock V. easy difficulty.

My way of doing it is to grab him as soon as I can (i.e. as far left as I can). That way, when I throw him, he won't land on the stage, and will usually jump. If I time my run from the throw properly, I can get to the edge of the main platform on time to grab him as he jumps. I then run off the main platform as I throw him.

If you are having problems with the re-grab, making the first grab sooner seems to be more consistent for me. Also, if you do grab him late so that he lands on the stage, he can be grabbed after landing, when he "bounces". You can grab Link from the main top platform at the height of his bounce on the lower platform.

If you are having troubles with the attack after the second throw, jumping and using a down air would be more consistent than the forward air move that some runners use. It's a difference of a few frames, so using down air instead of forward air really isn't that big a time loss.

(down air being the aerial attack that happens when you press down on the control stick and then press A).

Hopefully this helps <(^o^)>

If you look in the guides section I outline this in detail along with the rest of the category if you haven't looked at that already, should give you enough information to get sub 6 mins after a couple weeks of practice and learning. Take Care and Good Luck
