Hey All!

So TheStrahl submitted a run that is WR by making the board have less spots. It makes sense and that is how the Game Boy run does it too. I have a few questions regarding this though.

1. Should there be like a separate category for a default board vs an edited board?

2. Should the editing of the board be timed at all or no? Currently the settings changes don't get timed so this probably should apply to board editing too.

I accepted the run because its any%, just figured I'd throw these questions out there.

I'd say just have a separate category for runs that don't have board editing; similar to the GB leaderboard.

I'm honestly surprised no on had done it before. The way the gameboy version works, any% is just win the game with an unedited or edited board. Keep in mind, that anything that can be done on an edited board, can also be done on the unedited board.

100% requires an unedited board and you must fill the entire board before winning.

I think the best way to do this would be to simply add a variable to any% called "Board Edit" or something.

In that case, definitely not similar to the GB leaderboard then. Just an Any% with no board editing.

It doesn't make much sense to split the board over 4 seconds IMO

I don't feel strongly either way personally. We could just keep the board like this unless like a bunch of people want a change.

Board editing should be allowed, IMO. It’s part of the game, and this is “any%”... Plus, I have WR xD
If you want to make separate categories, board editing should be the main any% category and no board edit should be a misc category.
