WR Question?

One of the WR's 4 rounds didnt get a Bonus Round. Is this RNG? I have over 100 attempts and have never once skipped a bonus round.

I'm also curious what triggers the bonus round skip. I've only had it happen once and I'm not sure why it happened. If anyone knows, please share!

@PD4FR if you have footage of you having it happen it will help greatly in trying to figure it out. I never figured it out either.

The footage is in the 1:45 Quickie I submitted a couple days ago. You can see it in my pending runs or on my YouTube channel for now. It's the only time it's ever happened to me. Would be great to figure it out eventually

@PD4FR By any chance, were you using an expansion pack? Or just a normal jumper pack? From what I can tell, it looks RNG, but it's hard to tell. You're going quite fast, I doubt it but maybe speed is a factor? Games like Shadow Man are affected by the expansion pack, so it's quite possible it has something to do with it.

@MissRaven Yes, I used an expansion pack. I don't think I've tried the game without it before. Maybe it could be involved somehow like you said. Also I'll mention my runs were done on an EverDrive-64 X7. SouthParkStuff did their runs on emu so my 1:45 might be our first run on N64 hardware featuring the "glitch". It's nice to know it's not just an emulation quirk.

Initially I suspected it would occur when the game tries to trigger a Pressure Round when you're playing as Cartman in single-player mode, but the glitch seems rare enough that I doubt it. My best guess is that it's either got something to do with scoring, or it's input related (doing the dialogue skip early enough or within a certain window, etc). I sure hope it's not RNG lol. If I think of more ideas or find more info I'll share here

@PD4FR After watching both runs again a few times, I still can't find any kind of indicator in any part of the run that the glitch will work. It seems to straight up just be RNG, which is really unfortunate. It's also making me wonder if the WR used an everdrive as well, and labeled it as emu by mistake? Hard to know for sure. This is an interesting one and may require someone with an understanding of the games code to figure out.

@MissRaven Based on the graphical glitches (Chef's eyes) and age of the WR I think it's more likely that it really was done on emulator, but maybe. I'm leaning towards RNG/glitch but with time hopefully we can figure this out. If I had an original cart I'd try to grind on that to hopefully get footage of the glitch but I don't have one. More footage of the skip happening moving forward would help, so anyone who gets some, feel free and post here until this is figured out!

@PD4FR I have the game CIB for n64, when I'm done messing around with South park 98 on 64, I'll tackle this one and see what I can find :)
