Some basic things to pay attention to
Updated 4 years ago by Oh_DeeR
  • Runs on original hardware are fine in general. However, runs on Super Gameboy require a time correction according to https://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/Super_Game_Boy_timing .

  • Emulator runs need to be played on ~accurate emulators. Please stick to either BGB or Gambatte.

  • SML2 (or any game that doesn't use in-game time) is run as an RTA (real time attack) which means that the timer must not be stopped at any point until you meet the particular category's end requirement. (Note by mugg: doesn't matter how you manage your timer, really. Just go back later and time it with virtualdub/sony vegas/whatever)

I'll rework this "guide" at some point.
