Things to look out for if your running on console.

This is a guide for what you need to look out for on xbox and ps4/5 edition of slime rancher. This is not a direct route, i will be assuming that you know the route already as the route on pc is the same as the route on console. First thing is recording. The easiest and best option is streaming your runs on twitch using the app and then uploading the vod onto speedrun.com with the time stamp on the description. However if you don't like streaming you can always use a capture card or the recording functions built in on playstation and xbox. (note that you need to use a usb stick if you're on xbox to record.) The console edition is usually slower than pc to the point that most of your runs will be minutes slower than pc. I would recommend to not use hold to sprint as it physically hurts your thumbs. For more complex tricks like slime hovering and largo boost, I would personally use these when your time is around 16:30. Largo boosts can be frustrating on console because you can't move your head too fast so being precise for those is a lot more important than being fast. The slime hover at the beginning is done differently on console. Instead of “riding” on the slime you flick it forward and jump on it twice before flicking it forward again and repeating. Doing this will require a lot of practice but it is no harder than doing it on pc. The last thing I want to note is that during the moss blanket, instead of feeding the honey slimes right when you see them, it is faster to grab the honey slimes and throw them into a pool of water to feed them there. It is easier and faster. If you still need reference I would recommend watching my run. Doing console runs are not recommended in general as it has no benefits and is always slower than pc.
