I have some runs I would like to submit, if possible. Several members of the Shiren community have done speed runs on the Nintendo DS, myself included.

https://mysterydungeonwiki.com/wiki/Community:Shiren_1_DS_Time_Attack_Speed_Run_Challenge#Anything_Goes_Leaderboard

Just to clarify. Time Attack is a special main menu version of Table Mountain. It's accessed from the main menu after you've beaten the main story. You can either go in with 1 item or with none. Using a workaround, you can bring in a Jar (5) with 5 items in it. Usually weapons, armor, an armband, and whatever else.

The run assumes you've cumpleted all side quests, have all allies and the melding jar unlocked as it would take too long to start a fresh save for every run.

The game has this incredibly stupid penalty where the player is "fined" 10 minutes on their final time if they didn't collect 10,000 Gitan (currency). We ignored that as we felt our runs should reflect our actual playtime and skill and not some arbitrary BS the devs decided to add to it.

Yggy and I did runs on the Nintendo DS/3DS platforms back in September 2019 and posted them to the wiki due to the lack of support /splitting of versions on this site. I have the dates of my runs and times saved. We also have pictures saved of our runs. But I'd have to check the archived Shiren community discord to find Yggy's run dates.

"Gaze07" most recent run was shared on January 8, 2022. The rest were from September 2019. I could look into Yggy's best time, if it's important.

Due to how expensive capture cards are, we were lax on proof. The runs on average take 7 minutes to 15 minutes. Depending on if you remember the "random floor" patterns, luck, etc. So there's little reason to cheat as it's easy enough to just go for another run asap.

His suggestions for the DS version have been made on old pages before, but the moderators have not responded. I think they should give some kind of response whether they deny it or whether they approve it.

I was made aware of this forum thread thanks to irie, I almost never visit this website anymore, and if I do I certainly never even consider looking at the forums so excuse me for that.

I don't really see the point of adding a category like this (even more so with its current suggested rules) at this current moment considering there is not even a single run done for this entire game. However, I do think its a good idea to add it as an option to Table Mountain for now as its a different mode to the regular version of the game. Currently thinking of only accepting in-game time as the time for it as a TA submission, with possible expansion to RTA when people have a video of proof.

Honestly you could just do a regular TMTA or do one with carry-in without having the games "dumb" restriction of having to finish with the gitans. I'm not a huge fan of changing the rules of the game just because you see fit. We already have enough restrictions and changes on the game in the regular TMTA that you might as well just do the challenge in there bringing in whatever you want. I think that would be much more fun either way.

The DS version of the game was only added to prevent the SFC version of these boards to look like absolute trash for something that nobody cared for. These boards here exist for the low chance someone wants to even run this specific version and nothing else.
For now I want to encourage people to play the main category of the game and not think about misc category's with silly rules that can be added later if this game ever grows to that size like we did with PMD.

As always I encourage you to play the game you see fit and do fun challenges with your friends, I just don't think that it fits on here like this, we'll see.

Thank you for your reply. It was great to hear from the moderators.
If you are no longer a moderator, other moderators should manage it. I think so.

"I'm not a huge fan of changing the rules of the game just because you see fit."

That's exactly what the devs did. I'm just ignoring their stupid addition in favor of playing by the actual run time of my attempt and not some arbitrary amount of time they decided to add for an arbitrary reason.
