Hi. I'm intending to start running this game, and someone is working on a livesplit autosplitter/load remover for it (I asked nicely ^^). What are the rules for the runs? When it starts/ends, etc.

As the person who requested the leaderboard based on the demo and expected no one else to care about the game, I recommend the usual:

Do whatever makes sense to you and seems convenient. If there's something wrong with that approach, we can look into it more.

Well, having a set start/end point for runs would make it easier. Don't need much else than that, though.

I started my Osaka run timer as soon as the first cutscene skipped and ended the timer as soon as the last cutscene began. Made sense to me since you can't control load times. Lemme know if there's a change to this and I'll update my run time.

BlueNexus, our in-game times are identical, but your real time stat is the youtube video length, including the after-mission screen. I say update your real time value to the actual mission duration! Shouldn't include loading and mission-results screen in IL times, right?

What's the point of including real time for ILs when you have accurate IGT?

Mhmd_FVCMhmd_FVC likes this.

Runs are ranked based on IGT anyway. I might not include real time in the future, I suppose.

Also, It makes sense to include the after-mission screen in the video, since that shows your accurate IGN as proof. @dillionmcrich

Oh yeah, definitely include the mission results screen in the video, but I mean the real time minutes/seconds on the run shouldn't include load times and mission results right? Except in full game runs obviously.

I didn't know run ranking prioritized in-game timers though. RTA times don't matter as much then.

I will remove any glitched runs and will reject any new ones

Hi guys. New speedrunner here. I want to submit some runs for Shadow Tactics but I have no idea where to begin. I have all of my runs uploaded on my youtube channel. I play on console so world records are literally impossible for me to do, however I feel my times are pretty impressive considering. So ya any help would be appreciated!

@xwDUSTwx Sorry for missing this, seems I didn't get a notification.
No problem with the console runs, it's actually kinda interesting. I wouldn't go so far as to make separate categories or anything but the fact that the console is differentiated on the leaderboard is something.

Also, I saw your comment regarding the Matsuyama City time save by waiting out the cutscene right as I was planning on eradicating real time, but I think I'll settle on being okay with that kind of thing (for now) as the in-game time seems more relevant to this game.

Awesome thanks alot! Glad to be here. I am totally cool with being in the same category as PC players. Honestly I don't see many people speed running this on console because of how difficult it is with a controller. However did you happen to see what I said about the final stage Sunpu Castle? There is the short run and the full run. It would be cool for that stage to have 2 categories or whatever we would call them. Just my opinion.

About in game time. As far as I know this game is based off of it for sure. Another thing about console when you hold R1 and R2 to select characters or quickly swap items time stops during that brief moment. I try to do it as little as possible, but its an absolute necessity for linking and unlinking the characters.

Definitely a point with Sunpu, it would be pretty easy to add a subcategory, but what names they'd be given beats me.
