hub movement is a big one surprisingly from ur time i made 30sec or so in just hub movement. windy valley : route? 33sec is a longest ive heard here try a different route casino can be faster but its clip practize other things do u jumpcancel egg hornet or do u know off the eggwalker reset
Off the eggwalker reset? ive never heard, but egg hornet jump cancel ive tried and ive never gotten Feels bad, i checked and my windy valley time is 23 seconds, for what i think, my hub movement is pretty good, i mean like an 8/10. i run the steam version
the eggwalker fight has remenets of the debug mode in it (i.e in short after u hit eggwalker as soon as he starts to stand back up if u press the button bound to flute (assuming use of better sadx) it cause the standing up animation to skip saving about 5-6 sec in animation. just warning if u do it to early u'll soft lock the boss and u'll be stuck ) another hint even if u dont get egg horent in 2 cycles u can still do near 22 exact if everything else is good my old pb was 21:50 and that was a 3 cycle egg hornet.
about asking to maybe make a steam only category like they have Gamecube, XBLA, Ect. Because steam loses a minute to loads, or have another category in the leaderboards for time without loads, its unfail i have a22:57 and not a 21:57 just because of loads which is nothing i can control.
Ok, here's the thing. If you make a Steam only category, you'd have to make one for every console. If you don't like losing a minute to loads, get PC disk. For the time without loads thing, there's no accurate way of timing it because of the incosistent framerate.
tbh like i said before theres more time that can be lost on that time before u start getting into load times etc.
By inconsistent I meant, gameplay runs at 60 fps and cutscenes run at 30. And yeah, there are better things to worry about before loading times. For Tails, is learning the good routes. You can get decent times knowing just that
Have you tried watching other runs and copying the strats? Literally everything is viable on all versions. You don't need help. Those who refuse to learn can't be helped. Tails' Story is a run you can learn by watching and then doing (except Egg Hornet). Don't go to others unless you've actually TRIED to learn everything. Clearly you put 0 effort into learning anything but Casinopolis and the route. Come back when you've put the effort and time into the damn category
@Gpro I have tried literally everything even watching kinkycadece tails speedrun tutorial i HAVE TRIED LITERALLY EVERYTHING, but its ok becaue i ordered a pc version 2003 release so i will run that and practice egg hornet EVERY DAY FOR AN HOUR. ive been running this game since 2015 and i have no intent to give it up until i get at least sub 20.
@Gpro Well, with all do respect, i have never seen you post a tutorial and kinkys helped me drop 4 MINUTES OFF MY TIME, and notify me of some startegies, if you post a tutorial, i will watch it and do my best, i have watched your run twenty one times in counting and i cant do shit, so if you want to help me or anyone running this story, make a tutorial, i say this out of utmost respect, if you want me to get better, i will need a clear tutorial from Gpro Himself
Look, the strats are LITERALLY just follow the path. Especially in Sky Deck. That's how Tails works. There are kill planes in Windy Valley that you must dodge. I can't explain how I know when I dodge them. It's a trick you must get a feel for. Chaos 4 is a very obvious boss. Speed Highway, you take the path everyone but me takes.

And don't ask for a category to make it only easier for yourself to get a WR. If the community wanted loadless runs, they'd have it by now and never listened to me when I constantly told them what they needed to look for (I've been wanting loadless since I joined the single segment runners of this game). In fact, I never even got a response from anybody, so I'm PRETTY sure that the community doesn't want loadless runs (there IS a way to make it work across all consoles). And making a Steam-only category is even worse, as it's basically free WR everywhere. Especially when the community has multiple downloads for the PC disc version (I'd recommend cancelling your order; you'll likely get the wrong exe which will make things harder on you). Better to just ask around for a download.
I'm sorry about me being ridiculously harsh, but I take my speedrunning very seriously, and these kinds of stipulations of new categories or new timing methods without proper implementation leads to free WRs, which just makes people get bragging rights for the wrong reasons. I've always thought that people should earn these things legit. Anyone can reach their goals given enough time and effort. I'm just saying that you ought to try harder and choose the path that everyone else takes.
If you REALLY want loadless, talk about it in the community. I'd honestly be really happy if that actually becomes a thing. Not fair for people that don't have the luxuries the rest of us do and can't compete with the rest of us
I dont really want loadless now that i think about it, i just want the 500 hours i put in this category with the 200 attempts untill it produce something im proud of, once i get 20:XX I will let you guys know
