Dodgeless category

okay, i fully admit this is a skill issue thing, but what would people think about a dodgeless category? i think it'd open up speedrunning the game to a wider audience, since it lets it focus more on the routes and gameplay rather than pure mechanical skill

like, i'm no speedrunner, and i dont have the dexterity to pull off the current routes, but i would absolutely take part in a dodgeless category for fallen aces- and i don't think i'm alone there totally understand if this is a silly idea though lol

Maybe, but tbf one of the most important parts of speedrunning are those tricks like dashing to help speed up the game. No ones stopping you from submitting runs where you don’t dodge though, the leaderboard isn’t everything. If you want to come up with some routes that don’t involve dashing, go for it. The run at the bottom isn’t inherently less of a speedrun than the one at the top.

yeah, i was sort of thinking if there was a reasonable amount of people who had a similar thought then it'd be nice to have a competitive board that can be separated from proper runs that do make use of the dodge tech- but very true that i could, realistically, just post runs to the regular boards myself

If you want a really DIY method of doing it, get a google spreadsheet and record the record runs through that
