Why are like half and categories and verification for this game scuffed???

for example one of my favorite games Grey Box Testing, has for its any% a few different categories for people with different views or taste for betting the game as fast as possible

like some of there any%'s are as follows Inbounds, Out of bounds, Pause less, "Glitch less", HyperSpeed, Blind folded and Pauseless no Strafe and that's just any%

what they could possibly add are things like

Any% no SetUp Any% no hacks Any% BL and No BL Any% and probably more

but the verification process is the REALLY BAD (for some category's)

for example for No Major Glitches% the rules state that "Screennshots are allowed for times that are 25 minutes or longer"

now that's dumb for multiple reasons

1 If someone shows you their ending time, how the crap do you know they didn't cheat or break the rules cuz it's impossible to tell if they cheated or broke a rule if all you can see is the ending time screen ? (even an incident) maybe try to look at WR runs for splicing

Most importantly there’s time manipulation in this game

2 for No Major Glitches - No BL 64/102 or 65.3% of the runs don't need proper verification. so basically somebody can make an invalid run, or just not know the rules correctly and get from 38 to 103nd place while breaking the rules

By no means I am trying to hate on this game, I actually really enjoy this game but while trying to find a category to run I fell open this scuffed system and bland categories, or am I just reading this wrong?

but I would love to see our thoughts :)

Why is it 25 minutes or longer? It should be 30, that's very weird.

@Speedrun personally 30 is still way to short I think you should need a video recording all the time

it should probably be 30+, cause it used to be 30 minutes plus i remember, not 25. Making it confusing

@RB64HUSK True but for some of them you have no way of telling if they broke the rules or not by just a photo of the end time And most importantly there is time manipulation

almost every screenshot verification is someone's first run, didn't record (probably their first ever speedrun) and saw they could send a screenshot to get verified, so did it.

that is literally my first ever run

Good point and that is true, but some people can take it advantage of it

but also it could be good for people with bad screen recorders or screen recorder’s that make your PC or device lag

But still will hold some controversies in time’s

But mainly the problem is the screenshot percentages are to high you can get higher than about 65.3% of the speedrun times with a screen shot

I kind of think we should find the average time and base it off that But I’m not sure

Imma just respond to just a few things you said

"what they could possibly add are things like Any% no SetUp Any% no hacks Any% BL and No BL Any% and probably more" I really don't think everyone will fully understand what category to submit to. Someone might do a run that doesn't follow either of those confusing categories and we'd have to reject them. We would also get more people in the forums asking which one is which, even if we post a pinned forum clearly explaining what to do in each category (I would know, because I've seen it happen), and I sure wouldn't like to.

"Screenshots are allowed for times above 25 minutes, which is dumb. If someone shows you their ending time, how the crap do you know they didn't cheat or break the rules cuz it's impossible to tell if they cheated or broke a rule if all you can see is the ending time screen ?" We don't. This is just times above the 25 minute mark and the community decided that it's not a big deal. Not everyone can record their screens even if they knew how to with their current setup. They at least just want their name on the leaderboards. You see, people new to this usually do their times without recording, and when they see they can submit a screenshot, they will. Really the only rules in nmg are no exploiting and not performing major glitches (glitches that allow you to get to kebabulon without 32 ic) and 100% requires you to collect 53 (one for sun). But like I said, the community is fine with this rule.

I saw you necropost multiple times. No need to do that. Keep these old posts in the dark void where they belong.
