Who has Ps4 Pro or SSD has advantage in console runs.

It is necessary to separate the categories of ps4, ps4 pro, Hdd, Ssd. because it has a good advantage this is clear to notice right at the beginning of the run.

Is it more time bleed on HDD vs SSD? Bec. The igt ”does not” count loadingscreens what i know

More with higher fps, jill kind of walks faster and things happen faster in the game, this difference.

As far as the FPS issue on consoles is concerned, this has already been posted about in a couple places on these forums. Console is split with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro being in one category, and the other versions of these consoles in another.

As far as Jill walking faster and other gameplay changes, I’d ask that you provide some evidence of what you are claiming. Anyone can say, “Well I know in some games having faster FPS makes you move faster” but without having verifiable evidence we can’t prove that to be true or false. So if you have video to show the disparity, please post that here. I will look further into this on my machines either way.

Now, in my experiences so far, I can say that I have not seen a difference in the movement speed of the characters between the Xbox One Day One Edition, Xbox One X, and PS4 Pro, all of which I have been playing the game on since release. I have noticed other differences, mostly involving loading speeds. With loading screens being a part of the game where the IGT is paused, it should not have an affect on the cumulative time for the run. I have extensively looked into loading with the RE Engine on consoles before with the assistance of a handful of others, specifically with RE7 but quite a bit with RE3R now as well to see how console load times will affect IGT. Thus far, there is no discernible difference in IGT coming off of loads when comparing to other consoles. Something I have found in RE Engine is that load times are faster when coming from not only an SSD, but also if the game is installed on an external HDD. Also, in RE Engine, an Xbox will load faster than its PS4 equivalent. But again, the real world time difference in the loads on console are not enough to make a difference to IGT.

I made a video comparing the times in game showing that in the beginning the fast ps4 gained seconds of advantage in the beginning of the run

Remembering that this is just my question. that I saw clear evidence of that.

Thanks for posting that video, it’s much appreciated. I’ll take the two sections and double check to see if there’s a difference in the characters speed. But what is most likely giving you the IGT advantage on the faster is what we have been talking about in this post: https://www.speedrun.com/re3r/thread/c1gpa

FPS causes key frames that are tied to the IGT pause during cutscenes to process faster when there are higher FPS. Since we have known about that issue, we decided to split console because it’s at the worst when the frame rate is lower and the difference between high FPS consoles and low FPS consoles is pretty bad. Since this opening section of the game is heavy with cutscenes, you’re likely getting the “free” time from those cutscenes and not due to faster movement speed. As I mentioned, I will take your video and compare movement speed in them because I like to be thorough, but the known FPS issue with the cutscenes is most likely the culprit in the time difference. Once again, thanks for posting the video! I’ll post back here after I get a chance to check it.

@GODZIKARE yeah iknow about fps time bleed but not about ssd/hdd thing you wrote. I belive they gonna split Pro/standard consoles anyway so.

Edit: Jupp, zgl posted it :)

BTW i've got a trash PC (yeah that's true) and when i use SRT & LiveSplit, IGT continue after or before a cutscene meanwhile you have a blackscreen.
