But the only upgrades that are going to matter are the Modulator and the Extended Clip drops from Nemmy. See SpeedIdols video (City 1 - Post Power Station) for strats on how to get them for 1 bullet each.

I skipped the sight all it seemed to do was add a dot on the cross hair, helps with personal accuracy if needed though.

Didnt think the modulator mattered much, I figured by description that it would only add affectiveness to the same spots the rai-den does damage. Picked it up anyways for cosmetics. SRT could give the needed information.

Also SRT could let me know what does more damage to nemmy1, the heart, the tank or the head.

When lab’d the modulator was hitting for about 0.4% - 0.5% per a hit

Without that you are hitting about 0.2% - 0.3%

The increased damage then scales significantly with crits from perfect dodge rolls peaking at around 2.5%

When compared to what I could see coming from without the modulator about 1.2-1.4%

This was checked vs CT Nemmy

I was testing Flame Nemmy a bit too I’m not really sure what is faster, it might be a ratio of shots that’s gonna require a lot of testing. This right now is the least optimised boss for this cat imo.

From what I can tell you tho is that the first stagger from hitting the tank does 15% dmg, when the tank explodes Nemmy health is reduced to 40% it cannot go any lower than this. If you can perfect dodge away from him when he does his charge attack, when aiming and triggering the slow mo Jill aims for the heart with correct positioning. Also aiming slightly higher than the heart itself seems to be more accurate

Ive noticed, on assisted, My aim gets pulled to his heart alot more than on standard when perfect dodging. So I thought that was the game telling me something(being on assisted and all). I wasnt sure though as on console i have no way to know. I wish I could test my initial shot of the fight. 1 to the tank, to the heart, to the head. just to see the base damage of each shot.

Also when killing nemmy for parts what drops first extended mag or mod? I cant remember as I open them both at the same time on standard. and cant picture their order in my inventory. Would be nice if mod dropped first, but I doubt it.

Good to know the modulator does additional damage in all cases.

Excellent work everyone! I’m stoked to try it still! Just happy it’s doable because this is my favorite challenge/category. Laser site helps your cross hair focus much quicker. I believe you do more damage with a focused cross hair. Or maybe a higher chance to crit? Not sure but it definitely helps the crosshair focus much faster.

If focus is like it used to be you're trading off shooting two bullets in the space that it makes 1 bullet do 50% more damage. It's better for ammo conservation but overall a slower source of DPS vs bosses

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the G18 as well?

Mods are looking for rules now it seems so we best get cracking on them 🙂

I figured clip dropped first, thats unfortunate.

Handgun only is a mess atm, with all the deaths and such. g18 upgraded and g19 should be allowed. Both are pistols and extended mag and g18 carry much needed ammo and modulator brings much needed damage. In the end they are needed, not allowing them would only add more needed deaths to lower DA for no reason.

Upgrades should be accepted as would the burst pistol. afterall its a pistol that is found by everyone so no reason to ban it. And if this leads to what kniferun said with the deaths to DA manip im all for it cus i havent looked into it that much but reading this def doesnt get me excited for it.

@SpeedIdolSpeedIdol on ur nemmy down for the extended clip, after moons donuts. Is there any particular set up to guarantee this? Cause when checking this myself I can't get him to consistently drop by the red barrel after moons donuts

Or is it a case of praying for good RNG and if he doesnt spawn either reset or run towards pharmacy to try and use the other red barrel?

I don't know if it's RNG. Nemmy always spawns for me after Moon's donuts. I think you can run to the pharmacy and Nemmy should spawn there, but it's slower.

I think the categories should be this:

Assisted - Starting pistol, upgrades allowed (sight, clip and mod), no shop items and no NG+ items

Standard - (DA Manip) - Starting pistol, upgrades allowed (sight, clip and mod), G18 (Burst model), no shop items and no NG+ items

Hardcore - Starting pistol, upgrades allowed (sight, clip and mod), G18 (Burst model), assault coins and defence coins allowed (Not sure, not attempted this) I don't think we'll need the infinite for this.

Nightmare and Inferno - Inifinite Pistol and All coins

Let me know what you think guys. I think we all know this isn't going to be a 50 minute speedrun but the challenge is great. We're all going to find quicker ways over the next month or two and it's going to be a competitive category

If ng+ items are used at all, all should be allowed at the runners choice. Limiting shop items to difficulty makes no sense, either no shop or full shop. In my opinion anyways.

edit: by all, I mean ones related to handgun only, unlimited pistol, samurai edge, all coins, bolt cutters, lock pick. packs whatever.

basically
NG handgun only for assisted and standard.
NG+ handgun only for hardcore, nightmare, inferno

Yeh agreed, NG+ for all difficulties from hardcore+ what items u use are at your discretion (obviously not the AR/RL). Personally I think the only ones tht would make a difference are the assault coins.
I haven't tested the samurai edge yet but my assumption is that its weaker than the upgraded base pistol anyway. But you totally need NG+ content in Hardcore+ due to your ammo supply being cut in half and bosses being harder to kill.

On testing Hardcore, it plays out like Standard does, except you're crafting 5 less bullets per gunpowders.

IF people wanted set restrictions per difficulty, Hardcore could be completed with just 1 Assault Coin. I have only tested up till Nest 2 Hunters, because that part is just something else... I mean, I'm not trying to brag but I got 3 perfect dodges in a row and still managed to get bit and die... so if you really want to do this madness then have at it. You should have enough ammo with just 1 Assault Coin, you just won't have any sanity left afterwards.

What stops nemmy 2 from running? damage of the explosion or the explosion itself?

In theory anything that causes some kind of stagger/stun animation would stop him which would include critical hits, though the only realistic source of this is the mine rounds.

Even if he stops still, if you for example shoot him with a mine round, even though hes stationary u cud still get him to fall down n open up his heart.

In practice though the damage you can do to him while he’s running with a pistol is very small and potentially is wasting too much ammo for such a small chance that you can hit his head and crit him.
