Hi TDSS Community! We hope this message finds you well, we are reaching out to inform you of a significant update that will impact a major speedrunning category to TDS speedrunning.

Change to Normal Mode:

As you may aware, TDS has reworked "Normal Mode" and renamed it "Easy Mode," introducing a completely new wave structure. Consequently, we're archiving "Normal Mode" runs on the leaderboard and the category itself to maintain fairness and alignment with TDS' latest version. We understand the effort behind each record but believe this step is necessary for our competitive community.

What This Means for You:

If you have a "Normal Mode" run, it will be archived to honor achievements under the game's and TDSS' community old testament to the skill and dedication of our community's members during that period, but won't be active for competition. With the new "Easy Mode," we're starting a new chapter in TDS speedrunning, introducing new challenges and opportunities.

Looking Ahead:

We are committed to supporting our community during this transition to "Easy Mode" and are excited to see the new strategies and records that will emerge on the leaderboard from this update. We encourage sharing your thoughts and achievements as we embrace this new chapter in TDS speedrunning.

Greetings! Tower Defense Simulator gave us the gift of an accelerator rebalance after the December 23rd update that released the Christmas event. This made the tower have better early levels but ultimately a max-level nerf. This has caused speedrunning with the accelerator to be less optimal than before.

To fix this issue, the moderation team brought a new system that would prioritize the runs after the accelerator rebalance. We understand that not every single run may not appear on the page and if you have any problems please resubmit and the moderation team will gladly fix that.

Within the next few days, the moderation team will be working on moving runs on Forest Camp and Cataclysm so that Pre and Post-Accelerator Rebalance runs will appear on the same map. (Edit: nevermind, some dingus removed obsolete cataclysm from the leaderboards)

Your obsolete runs will still exist on your profile and they can be viewed by going to the Pre-Accel Rebalance category.

Hello, as you all may know the old TDSS discord got closed due to stuff getting out of control. As the new owner of TDSS, I have made a completely new Discord that is drama free and organized. I will try my best to keep it that way as the new owner of the new server.

The reason is for my personal problems (I want to spend less time on the internet, so I thought this would be a good idea). Another reason is that I don't enjoy the game anymore and I haven't played it in ages, because of that I don't have the motivation to moderate the game that I don't even enjoy. Little QNA: It'll be sad to see him leave our team but his legacy within TDS/TDSS will shine on! if you'd like to thank him for his work he is still in the discord server but he'll no longer be a moderator.

Who will re-place GuGi_k? Well as he said in his post me (Teh_crazy) will now be taking the role of Head Moderator for TDSS.

As of today 21/02/2022 Inftds is fired from being a moderator. We are very sorry for all the pings and the server will be fixed soon.

Heya there so you want to submit a run for TDSS but you've no idea on what to do and where to start well I'm here to help!

Chapter 1: Starting out First of all your going to need a good understanding on how TDS works so I'd recommend practicing a mode until you get it just right. What maps are good to practice on? well Harbor is a great map for fallen mode you might not get a WR but its a great starting place, Winter bridges is great practice for molten and easy mode can be any map you'd like.

Chapter 2: Recording the run If you are on PC/Mac you should try and use whatever works best for your system, I'd really recommend using OBS because its pretty easy to use. (Here is a helpful video on how to record with OBS:) now if your on mobile like I said before try and use whatever works best for your system.

Chapter 3: Uploading the run So you made it, you've got the run recorded and your ready to submit your run well hold your horses first you'll need to upload it to Twitch/Youtube I'm only going to be going over Youtube since I've got a better understanding of that so go https://www.youtube.com and click the arrow in the corner and upload your video file now you can make the title/description everything you'd like same with the thumbnail now you'll need to make it public and boom you've uploaded your run to Youtube.

Chapter 4: Submitting the run to TDSS Now come back to the speedrun.com and click on the map you made a run for (duh) then click Submit run. Category is the mode so if you played on fallen you must select fallen, now you'll need fill out the Player 1, Player 2 ect if you did it solo then in Player 1 put your Speedrun.com name (Make sure you always put YOUR speedrun.com name in Player 1 since Player 1 will/should always be you) if you played with other people you'll need to add there names Player 2 Player 3 ect ect (You CAN put there roblox names however if they have a speedrun.com account we'd rather you use that instead), the Level is the map you played on, next you'll need to put in the time from the triumph screen which is the screen with the time at the end of the round this is important if you get this wrong you'll run will be ignored also Time and in-game NEED TO BE THE SAME they are both need to be the triumph screen time so many people get this wrong and its becoming annoying, Player Amount is how many players you had with you, Platform is what device you played TDS on while recording (Emulators are banned!), this is also VERY important make sure you put the link to your video in Video link and that's it you don't need to put a description but you can if you'd like now click submit and your all done congratulations!

Chapter 5: Waiting/conclusion Runs can take up to 3 weeks to be looked at if your run hasn't been look at after 3 weeks please contact us in the discord server about it (Discord server link: https://discord.gg/V9wjjvkMxp ) and that's it you've officially submitted a run for TDSS now if you need more help or just don't understand join the discord and ask for some help we're always happy to help!
