I had a great time running this game today, and i think it could be an amazing speed game, but the random freezing during slides and complete dead stops mid air ruined at least 100 runs in a single day for me. Does anyone know any tricks to at least slightly PREVENT this from happening? I can't make heads or tails of why it stops you(possibly physics or code related to framerate being affected by UE4 dropping frames maybe?)
I'm not too sure myself, generally what I do though is wait just a second before sliding again to try preventing it, if you do it too quickly you'll just crouch and if you jump too quickly after doing it you get stuck in mid-air. I can do a bit of testing to try get an understanding of how it works.
Yeah I definitely noticed consistency went way up when I started allowing full resets so I got less of that wack movement where he would like crouch slightly off the ground and eat the jump input leaving you stopped.
I'm also really curious why sometimes you just launch downwards at lightspeed. I think it has something to do with the weird super fast slide boost you sometimes randomly get when sliding on a surface in a corner(like the top of the wallrunning bilboards that are adjacent to the walls), but it's boosting you down because of the downward slope on the edge(especially near the shotgun pickup, I get launched downwards into those grinders a lot).
haha, glad to hear it's so inconsistent you haven't had it yet, I'll dig through some footage when i get on to try and PB again tonight since i know i lost 6 or 7 runs to that bug. I'm also gonna do some clip hunting tonight, i have a feeling there's a ceiling missing somewhere waiting to be exploited, but i wasn't able to get out of bounds on any of my runs last night at all

I've tried finding OOB glitches but also been unsuccessful I saw a bit near the beginning that looked promising but I just couldn't get enough height to trigger the walk run.
The OOB I found could have even more potential with a new trick being discovered. I want to also mention that you can spam kick to glide.

depending on how big of a change the OOB makes, it may also be worth creating a category for any% glitchless or any% no OOB to move the current leaderboard into, since I feel there is still A LOT of optimization to be made without any skips
