I've been trying to get a board up for an smb3 hack that I made, I submitted it under rom hacks as I couldn't find an smb3 rom hack series at all, however it was rejected and I was told to resubmit it as part of the smb3 hack series. Is there one that I am missing somewhere? I checked a few other big smb3 hacks like smb3 mix and it didn't seem to be under any specific hack series.

So Mario ROM hacks are actually part of the Mario series, however they are given the ROM Hack game type. You can see a list of previously approved leaderboards that follow this pattern here: https://www.speedrun.com/mario#gametype=1&or_gametype=on¬_gametype=off&sorting=release&direction_sort=off . I'd recommend using the request game feature under the mario series and emphasizing it is a hack during the submission process.
