Leaderboards moderation requests thread

It's interesting that you glossed over Kirkq's whole point about fairness and their expectation to involve the community in the decision making process:

[quote=kirkq]xJackieBx/Zecora_MLP_1: Please just link a thread next time. I'm not reading through all of it, but my generic opinion is that if something related to an online game is one time attainable, it should be considered (not saying required) to split off into a separate category or subcategory to promote fair competition for newcomers. Some games release tons of one time attainable items, so maintaining a list of one time obtainable items might be tedious in some cases. If a board has a substantial amount of runners, consensus is generally the most correct answer. Have a vote or something.[/quote]

What I took from that post was: Just because something could be distinguished with its own category does not mean that it necessarily should be distinguished at all, you guys need to come to an agreement on this one point, having a vote would allow everyone involved to share their opinion and decide the outcome without any more discussion.

For reference, there has been no vote. The decision continues to be handed down from one mod of the board. We are being ignored and the excuse is that "It's gotten annoying", well that's exactly how the community feels, slightly annoyed that we're being ignored entirely.

Kirkq can speak for their self on this.

If the argument sounds tired it's because it's not being addressed, so the tone of it wont change. It should be a pretty apparent sign of mishandling if the argument from the community sounds like a broken record.

Ozotuh: If you don't want to be involved in the resolution you should let your involvement in the topic "die". Doesn't that seem like such a reasonable stance to take on this?

This issue needs to be addressed and not ignored or glossed over by making a category that only 2 people will be running.

Hi, I was added as a moderator for the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series (http://www.speedrun.com/rogue) over a year ago, and have been able to create a steadily growing community for RS1, sharing strategies and videos and glitches in our Discord server. At first we just played the original game, (http://www.speedrun.com/rogue1) but now we're interested in getting into the sequels.

At first I was added as a Super Mod for the whole series, but when I went to check on the pages for the other two games, (http://www.speedrun.com/rogue2) and (http://www.speedrun.com/rogue3) I found that I was no longer a Super Mod of the series and not a mod at all of the third game.

According to the other mod's page (http://www.speedrun.com/user/Cronibard/info) they were online just over three weeks ago, but we have never been able to get into contact with them, and they haven't used their Twitch or YouTube pages in several years. They did a single run of RS2, with questionable rules, and never did a run of RS3, nor set any rules.

As a community, we'd like to have a go at RS2 and RS3, and likely redefine the rules to better reflect the nature of the rules we set for RS1.

So my ask is that I be made a Super Mod for the series again, as well as rogue2 and rogue3.

LaserTrapGamer: It looks like you were added. I didn't touch anything.

StrawberryMilk: Since you don't seem to have a run in queue, I'm not sure there's good reason to add you.

GhostScit: I don't think I touched anything. If you were regular moderator (green sword), it's mostly up to the super mods whether or not you're there. I don't see a run by you regardless.

SeriouslyRidiculous: It looks like you were added, I didn't touch anything.

Ewil: Since you're on pretty much every game and they don't have runs of that game, I'll add you. The guy who added it didn't add a run, which is odd since I've been checking for that more heavily in recent time.

CrystalKrazy: 28 days and run in queue, I'll add you.

SDiezal: The runs were processed. Generally just give it some time.

bmac_attack_64/DrYoshiyahu: I moved DrYoshiyahu to a super mod, so he can add people now.

peck324: It looks like your run was added. Beyond that, please discuss it with the moderator for now.

xJackieBx/Zecora_MLP_1: Refer to previous post mostly. "I don't like the things he said last week" isn't a great reason to move mods around, sorry.

Zecora_MLP_1: Don't delete forum posts unless they're just abusive. It just makes people annoyed. If you don't want the board to have a bunch of complaint threads, just make a single thread that all of that discussion is restricted to, then people can argue all they want and it doesn't flood the whole board and people don't have to come to this thread to voice dissent.

Peewi: I'll just add you, since the mod has been offline a while.

NiiroKitsune: Moderator inactive, added.

dominantmasterXgamer/RC-3P0: Ozotuh's response is pretty accurate.

PrettzL: My post should still speak for itself, but I'll give a personal response (nothing guidance/rules related here.): If it was a board I moderated, I wouldn't really care much about an additional category listed behind the featured categories if people wanted it so long as it was well defined and didn't bloat the category list too much. Consensus is also good.

Let me know if I missed any posts.

Hello! I would like to request to be added as a moderator for South Park: Stick of Truth if it is possible. I've reached out to Zandergoth on twitch to request to be added as a moderator, but either he hasn't noticed both messages and whispers or is ignoring them. He's approved my runs for the game, but that seems to be about all he's done so far. I'm wanting to help the community grow as much as I can, as there have been multiple questions from people in the game's forum boards as to make new categories for those who can't downpatch, and for resources and guides for the game, the former I can't do anything about unless I've been a moderator.

I am a supermod for Legend of Mana, and moderator for several other games, so I know what there is to do for moderating, and the responsibilities it holds.

@Pixelkaye ZanderGoth is active on the site, so your only choice is to wait. This is a last resort thread.

Hello there! Me and a fellow runner recently started running "Rainbow Islands" for Gameboy Color.. The game has a leaderboard atm, but made for NES version only. The games different versions are indeed very different, and each version would need its own category.

We tried submitting a new Gameboy version, but without luck. The biggest issue is that the main moderator seems 100% gone. We contacted him without luck. We did get hold of the secondary moderator though, who explained he didnt care if we took over, but that it was down to "Dugongue" who no body can get hold of.

Here is the current leaderboard we want to take over, and transform into having all the versions (So its actually useable) http://www.speedrun.com/rainbowislands

Here is a ref. run:

Best wishes TucanSam & LoveBot

@LoveBot the board state that it is for the NES version. You should submit this one has a new game and add the (GBC) at the end.

Since Dugongue is the moderator for the whole series, and locked the versions to NES only.

you should wait at least 2 weeks until your game get approved/rejected, the admins will get to it when they can, just be patient!

@Deln The only way I know he's active is because he's approved my runs of the game, but that's all I've had to work with. I have zero way to contact him aside Twitch, and I've already messaged him and whispered him to no avail. I don't want to just pop into his stream and ask him to check his messages, that's poor etiquette. That's why I posted here, AS the last resort. I want to see the community for the game grow, and I can't do that very easily without some cooperation from his side.

Also @LoveBot you can try to contact Dugongue on twitter, as he has it linked on his profile here. He responds pretty quickly on there, as he and I have had some discussions about other games from time to time.

Edit: double posted, deleted the other post and edited this one.

@Pixelkaye he has a twitter(its probably not linked but it doesnt stop you from actually looking for him).

https://twitter.com/ZanderGothSRL (though it does seem like his twitter might be unused)

And yes, if you see him online then you SHOULD take the initiative and tell him on stream if that's the only way to talk to him right now.

Yeah, I checked his twitter and say that it was super inactive, so I erred that he doesn't check it at all.

I haven't tweeted since April 1, that doesn't mean I don't check my Twitter.

Yes, and even if you don't check Twitter, Twitter may still check YOU. People often have email notifications set up.

Hey guys.

I'm requesting moderation for Quantum of Solace ( http://www.speedrun.com/qos ). I run this game actively (my PB was three months ago before my capture card died, but I have PB'd offline since) and will hopefully be getting a capture card soon. The current (and only) mod has been offline for a month, has not replied to me on Twitter or my forum posts on the page. I am online on speedrun.com almost every day, usually multiple times a day. Thanks.
