Hi, My name is Sh1ne and I have been playing tomb raider games basically my entire life. I have now decided to get into speedrunning the first one.

I have two questions. first of all, is there any software or plugin that is used for measuring the times. And where would I find such software? keep in mind that I would prefer it also have functionality with streaming on twitch. And secondly, Where can I find stuff like rules for speedrunning a given game, as well as tips and tricks for skips and the like.

A good program for timing runs is livesplit https://livesplit.org/ The standard software for recording/streaming is OBS, but there are also several other good screen capture softwares that work well. If you need help setting up, you can go to https://www.speedrun.com/streaming_recording_equipment/forum The rules for a game can be found by going to the page for that game and clicking on the "view rules" button at the top of the page. You can find guides, tips, and tricks in the resources or guides section on the sidebar.

Edit: forgot to say this, but welcome to the site! Each game also has a forum where you can ask questions, and you can always join the game's discord server if it has one.
