Mouse staggering issues with PrBoom+

Hi everyone,

I have managed to get everything up and working with PrBoom+ except two main issues.

  1. When I use the mouse to turn fast while running around I get this staggering where the cursor seems to be staggering back, this greatly impacts my aim. My intuition tells me that the actual windows mouse is hitting the edge of the window before the application can reposition it in the center. Do anyone know of a solution for this problem?

  2. The other issue I have is that if I hold down the forward key while the next level is loaded I am standing still almost as if I am hitting an invisible wall. To get moving I have to let go of the key and press down again. I am not sure if this is something everyone has to deal with?

Regarding the mouse awkwardness I also noticed that if I put the doom.bat shortcut to the left on my desktop, then my starting aiming angle will be turned almost 90 degrees to the right. This is because the game starts and then positions the mouse in the center and calculates the doomguys turn from this. The current workaround is to just position the shortcut in the middle of the desktop where the crosshair will be in the game.

Sorry if this has all been answered somewhere else, I just joined and am still learning to find my way around the site.

that used to happen with me when using choco doom, and issue was - my mouse sensitivity was too high for port to handle. lowering it and increasing in-game sensitivity might help. Regarding forward key, I'm not sure what you are talking about? However I never was just holding it, I start holding when screen tear after level starts and it works.

I assume you are using Crispy doom now?

The forward key thing is if I hold down the forward key on the level map in between levels as an example. Or start holding to early after difficulty selection.

I have been messing around with PrBoom+ for awhile now and have not managed to get rid of the mouse issues that I was experiencing.

The crispy-doom source mod worked flawlessly and I have managed to get it setup the way I wanted. Also the thing with the forward key I was talking about is the same in crispy-doom so I am assuming that this is just part of how the game works since it does not register a key-down event while the map is running.

Thanks for your time.

New moderation for Classic Doom/Changes coming soon

Hey everyone so I'm gonna make this short because I have to go to work shortly.

I was made a moderator for the Classic Doom's here on SRC, and there's going to be changes.

  1. All IL's/Episode run categories are going to be removed

This is because DSDA exists. There's no logical reason for I
