Is it allowed if I added a timer to the video thru the means of something like Sony Vegas? I use LiveSplit but I have no means of being able to add it to my recording. I am asking because I don't want to add a timer for a better viewing experience but render my run invalid.

as long as you just add a timer and do not change the actual run then it should be fine with most leaderboards
