video evidence missing

what steps need to be taken to remove a run that has no video evidence? the super mod of contra the alien wars put the time on the leaderboard that is not attached to a profile. the run is not viewable for whatever reason. i have posted about this in the game's forum but was not responded to by any of the mods even though they have been online since then. https://www.speedrun.com/contrathealienwars

That run was probably verified when the video existed. But since the video was deleted, the run should also be deleted. Did you contact the mods from their social media?

Sadly, half of the users don't agree on that.

yes spidersponge, i have contacted him directly on his twitter. basically he claimed that no one knows how to handle it. if he doesnt know how to handle it then why is he super mod. he is the mod that put the run there to begin with, also he is the only super mod.

if that is the case then what would be stopping me from putting all of my runs on private from the leaderboards that i moderate? i could easily do this in a matter of minutes.

Nothing, actually. I'm not sure why you'd do it, though. That said, I'm not going to dictate what your rules should be on videos that are no longer available. You can go into a verified run and reject it in the same way it was verified in the first place.

The site doesn't impose a hard requirement on having video, and context and community opinion is relevant. This user has 55 runs on the site where most or all seem to have had video at one point. If all the Contra players felt this time wasn't legitimate there would probably be good reason to take it down. This game has about 4 runners in total, which is not very many. In my opinion there's about a 99% chance the user did the run based on the context, and I'm guessing the other runners don't have a strong opinion on the subject.

Things happen like Twitch deleting VODs, youtube copyright claims, etc. For this reason I would always advise keeping local copies of all runs you really care about.
