I'm sure this question gets asked quite a bit, but I really like this speedrunning this game and I would like to know how I become a moderator.

You've gotta have quite a bit of community experience (all of the moderators have been speedrunning these games for years). There's also the fact that there are more than enough moderators at the moment - there were recently 2 verifiers added to keep up with the number of runs being submitted. I doubt there will be any further mod additions for quite a while.
