Should there be IL runs and would there be subcategories for each level? This is something I have had this on my mind for a while, and I would like to see other thoughts on the subject.
I think so eventually anyway. I don't know how we would categorize them though. Like Story Mode for example has all the levels you can do but, you also have more Super Meter Bars. Not sure how that can be restricted exactly. Also there is definitely a lot of categories for Single Player and Multiple Types of Co-Op Runs. So its hard to say what it will consist of exactly. Also can't forget Multiple Difficulty Levels. We would have to come together as a community to decide how to approach this.
I've tinkered with the idea of an IL leaderboard. It's just such a headache with all the different variations. There also hasn't been a whole lot of interest in it. There might be more if the timer wasn't skipped over at the end of each level in runs. If you're interested in IL runs I encourage you to do so even without an existing leaderboard.
I honestly have a huge amount of interest (note, this is my opinion as a random player, not a moderator) with ILS in this game. I actually grinded day 1 on April/Gnarly and had it down to a 2:50, I think, but this game is very bad for an individual level framework.
As @lxx4n6xxl wrote, there's a lot of logistical errors in making a board that makes sense for ILs.
In my opinion, if ILs were ever added in the future (and again I wanna specify, this is my opinion as a player and I've absolutely not talked to anyone else that's a moderator about this) I would heavily encourage ILs to remove all co-op elements to reduce the insanity that would be the IL boards. Single character, single segment only.
Honestly with the way the current patch is it could probably be done now and not have to be separated into different modes. Just Characters, Difficulties and even Co-Op seems fine to implement now especially since the Leader Board and the Site have been updated. I do hope the mods look into this!!!
