If it's any% I don't see why it would make sense to require the extra work that requires extra time in the game. By definition it's not any%, it's a literal 50%. As someone who is interested in getting into running the challenges, it seems disingenuous to have an any% category that doesn't follow most general rules of any%. I like that the category does force the player to get the cool death scenes but I just think it should be in a 50% category and any% should just revolve around getting done each of the ten challenges as fast as possible, going in of course with all of the challenge maps unlocked already.
The reasoning, is that when you do the Challenge mode for the first time, the minimal amount of Objectives needed to progress to the next challenge is 3. It is a form of completion, but it is the minimal requirement. It IS technically Any%.
To add to that, what you seem to be describing sounds more like a NG+ category rather than Any%, considering everything is already unlocked. I'd be okay with adding the category if you're actually going to be running it but it wouldn't be considered Any%.
Seems like a pretty boring category, considering it requires you to achieve nothing. Would rather see the FT13 runners try out the Any% Challenges before adding anything else.
Actually you need 2 Skulls to advance to the next challenge not 3 Objectives, so the Any% should be getting 2 Skulls in each challenge.
@rellik2117 Do you have proof of this? When I played Challenges for the first time, I don't remember unlocking the challenges based on Skulls. Even if that were the case, that would make a boring category, considering how slow it is to actually achieve the Skulls on certain maps. The routing I've done for Challenges, based on Objectives, has all of the fastest, and most interesting strats. They're also all technically Individual Level records.
@maxylobes if you havent unlocked the next Challenge it says you need 2 skulls to unlock it
Well thanks for the update. I suppose I'm wrong to say that the objectives are what unlocks challenges, but I'm definitely against changing the rules to abide by the skulls. The skulls are slow and boring to achieve in almost every challenge. The objective-based rules make for a much more interesting category set.
Its because of the level your suppose to be at, even doing any kind of speedrun. If it was easy everyone would be doing it, it's this way to weed out the good from the best.
