i saw so many runners that feel bad about themself in speedrunning just because u need to be good at mario or zelda and games that had big community or races or a lot of users. Nah...Speedrun still Speedrun EZ to understand that it about every games and u play to the end as fast as possible. so to be like Mario & Zelda is harder bla bla ok ok i maybe agree with u but the mario and zelda runner cant run every games to be WR that the point (They r good of what they r) In the end u just run the games u love and get WR that consider to be real speedrun too.
I agree completely, speedrunning is about the individual, artistry, the community, and the games etc. Just like you say, the games and the individual speedrunning are the most important intricate factors in the equation. We wouldn't be here right now establishing a strong community if it wasn't for ourselves. That's why I'm about to speedrun an arcade game to make it more popular its called trick trap/labyrinth runner its on my youtube. Actually, it's a lot like legend of Zelda meets a maze game, its fun. I don't really see myself running any Zelda games though, apart from maybe Zelda 2 nes. I'll play almost any obscure unknown game so it doesn't have to be a popular game that most people would play. I also agree getting a WR is about ones own determination and passion and drive to get it. If you're just going to speedrun games because they are popular or b/c somebody else is doing them then you are not being yourself.
and I speedrun sometimes to Although usually speedrunning takes a lot more time than no death and perfect clears.
