Game request requirements

You should state all requirements for requesting a game beforehand.

I wanted to request a game but I had to make an account. I made an account. I wanted to request a game but my account wasn't old enough. I waited a week. I wanted to request a game but I didn't have social media tied to the account. I added my Discord account. I wanted to request a game but I didn't have email authentication enabled. I turned email authentication on.

And finnaly, I got to the request form only to find out short indie games aren't accepted.

Not sure how you expect to request a game and be added as mod and manage the board without an account. I'd like to see you upload a YouTube video without a Youtube account.

Copied from game request page "We require your SR.C account to be at least 7 days old before you are able to submit a game request. We require moderators to have at least 2 social media accounts attached to their account such as Discord, Twitter, Twitch, etc. If you have one or no contact methods at all attached to your profile, your request will be automatically rejected." There's points 2 and 3.

I'll give you point 4 but that's a small ask.

And no. It's not that "short indie games" aren't accepted. They're held to a higher level of scrutiny. You can check the rules on what kinds of games are likely to be accepted on the game request page, and much more explicitly here: https://www.speedrun.com/gamerequestrules

  1. Be nice.
  2. Web site design is hard. The way it's set up right now, the rules are associated with the same page as the actual request form. So when you aren't logged in, you can't get to the form or the rules. Is it perfect? No. But it works 99% of the time and most people are fine with it.
