Specific Rules/Guidelines for Gamecube Runs?

I've been considering speedrunning a lesser known GC game, it's my first and probably last speedrun I'll ever attempt, but I was wondering what the rules are for the playthrough and the process of uploading it onto here. One other speedrun I've seen of it just had it emulated with a timer, but I don't know how strict the site is about how "authentic/official" it has to be. Thanks in advance.

I was referring more to whether certain settings are allowed/disallowed, or how "professional" the speedrun has to be. Obviously it's not the Guinness book of records but at the same time I don't know what standards are set for submitted runs.

"I was referring more to whether certain settings are allowed/disallowed, or how "professional" the speedrun has to be" There isn't really a global ruleset for this sort of thing. Each game and community has its own rules. For example, some games require video proof for all runs, some only require it for top 10 runs or runs under a certain time, and some don't require it at all.

Just be sure to check the rules for whatever game/category you're looking to speedrun, and you should be good.

^ To follow up, the "global rules" if you will are dont fucking cheat... That's all. So you are more than likely clear on that front. :P

For each game there is a rules button which the moderators have set for said game. Should be just above the leader board next to the submission button. To submit a run, all you need is footage of your game play. An on screen timer is not needed but is encouraged. The quality of the video you submit should be somewhat decent as to not look suspicious.

Weather this will be your first/last run doesn't matter to us. We are happy you have an interest in this and you are willing to give it a taste! Good luck fam!

WARNING IF YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW THE RULES READ THIS BORING GARBAGE runs should be done without corruption or addition/removal of functions, mechanics, or coding present in game release/legitimate and successful download. The usage of extensions, file switching, or marcoing is as well prohibited during or before game play. Unless stated otherwise like in games such as DDLC. Further rules may be set for certain game types, genres, series, or even single games. If you are following these rules you may run them however you so choose to have your submission verified. Otherwise it will be deemed invalid. Without exception.
