The State of MHGU Any% Village/Guild

As many people in this forum know, recently our community has become stale and really unplayable for new players. I have a simple proposition, we have one category of Any% that uses a bomb oriented play style, and another that is actually what the game is, the player versus the monster. Because from what I've been seeing, recently, the Any% has just become a player using bombs over and over and over again, until the monster is cap ready. Cool, it's the fastest way to do it, sure, but it's something that isn't fun to watch, and isn't fun to do. So I believe having a category for this style of play, and another one that is actually the player, versus the monster. Where you're actually attacking, not bomb spamming, and trip locking, because lets be real, that's not fun to watch, or to do, and because of how efficient it is, so many people just aren't incentivized to do runs. I believe having one category that bans the use of bombs, it'd be a simple change, and it'd be fun to actually run again. This is what I think will help our community, and I think it can revive it.

If you'd like to do a run that bans the use of bombs or even a run that follows TA Wiki rules that'd be great! I'd gladly help you route it and do a run of it as well. As for the proposition of a category that bans the use of bombs I really think it's a great idea, kind of akin to a "Glitchless" speedrun, however I don't think something like that would drive more players to the game. I've been the only active runner for a few months now and I can say the reason that people aren't doing RTA runs is just a general lack of knowledge and interest. But if you'd like I'm down to ask some of the mods if they'd be okay with adding "TA rule" or "Bombless" as a category extension or even its own category. I'm actually routing Hub% No DLC at the moment which will rely very little if at all on bombs :) But for the time being If you're looking for a current run that doesn't rely very heavily on bombs I'd recommend looking into the Village Glavenus No DLC categories, it's not nearly as optimized as the current Village Glavenus DLC run but I'm working on putting out a full guide for the new route I made which I got my new PB with (4:21:07) If you have any other concerns feel free to voice them here or the discord.

That honestly sounds great, I just would like a new thing to practice for, or to watch, (because lets face it no one likes bombs), I'd love to see the route develop for this. Feel free to message me on discord at Andrew22#6414. I like that someone actually cares about this.
