Run Submission
Ireland

Hey folks,

Just wondering..

I'm trying to merge all my segments so its a single vid rather than all the splits, but I'm having a hectic time doing so (just for context, it sat at 2% after an hour).

Would the run get rejected if I uplooaded the segments to youtube as a playlist and submitted the link to the first one here?

I'll persevere if need be, but it'll literally take days to merge the vids.

PS, the finish time was 24:31:37. Not quite what I'd hoped for but happy enough.

Nah, some of the previous WRs had multiple parts (due to internet problems in the stream) and it was fine. If the game is long, people understand. It would just be way too much to splice.

I look forward to seeing how well the route worked for a new player. How easy it was to follow, how often you had to look at it to refresh yourself, and if it slowed you down or interfered with your play style at all.

So... when is the first part going to be up? At least put them out as consistently as possible if you have them all.

I have to point out that the leaderboard requires you to have it played in one go though. (Real-Time Attack) If it was a segmented run then it doesn't fit the requirements for the leaderboard. If it was a full run played in one go but it has several videos which show the full run if you would combine them then that's fine.

It was a single playthrough, I just couldn't complete it in one go so I've had to save and load etc, but the saving/loading is present in the vids.

Can I confirm then that the run won't be accepted due to that?

It's probably me using the wrong terminologies as I've just realised what a segmented run actually is. My bad!

Just upload the parts. You probably won't get onto the leaderboard if actual savestates are present rather than in-game saves, but at least let us see the run so we can get some insight on how to do it better.

It'd probably be a good idea to crop the video down in such a way that the parts overlap each other by a little while to prove continuity. Congrats on the achievement of finishing a run! :D

Cheers, mate šŸ˜ There were a few sticky moments in the run and definitely a few mistakes were made but I was happy to get over the line!

The run is on YouTube if anyone fancies a look.

I saw it. Good start, and good understanding of the run.

SmartBall has challenged me to do a faster run instead of being an armchair strategist. He followed me on Twitch but like you, Iā€™m YT only. And I havenā€™t beaten the game yet! Your run will help me though.

When I have the time to run after lots of practice, I might be the first Japanese version player.

Before I didnā€™t run the game because I just didnā€™t like it that much. And I had plenty of other games to discover. The community is encouraging though. Iā€™ve become a pariah among Turbografx runners for my anti-emulator stances. DW2 is a game many people want to run. Itā€™s a ripe frontier of speed running.

I look forward to seeing your eventual run, PR. I think if I didn't get too overzealous with levelling up early on, then absolutely failing a handful of domains then there's atn improvement there of a couple of hours.

One thing I considered late on was DNA digivolving MagnaAngemon and whamon and getting the chaos rings before completing the second wave of tournament battles, because at that point, that particular digimon would've been at ultimate with all of those attacks and HP recovery.

I considered this to be a slight issue due to one of the file island domains having that unavoidable ret bug, but transferring a server digimon could provide that slight chance of safety.
