Hello I was watching the MMO category and noticed in this run https://www.speedrun.com/factorio/run/yo6l4xjy that the submitter used commands during the run

Germany

hey thanks jd for pointing that out

the run got rejected because the command "/admin" is not on the allowlist ( pastebin.com/CZsPuvM9 )

I think what this run is normal run ruined by 1 use of command. Also "/admin" command didn't gave him speed boost, he didnt ban or kick someone, excetra. If this run will be pictured from side of another player who didn't use console - it will probably be OK.

Maybe you find wersion from another player perspective who didn't use commands - so maybe they will let it pass?

Rules are rules and they are there for a reason. The command list was a long disscussion during last rule votings and have been agreed and voted upon by the Factorio speedrunning community. While unfortunate (speaking as a member of the run), there's nothing we can do about it now.

Yup rules is rules, it was a slight oversight we forgot to mention to the new host, but one we accept even though it offered no advantage.

We intend to run again on the 18th October all being well to reclaim the WR with an even faster time ;) Everyone should come and join and see if we can smash sub 1hour ;)

Yeah, if there aren't any rules, how do you prove to everyone you're the best! Best at what, amiright? Best at having fun?

At least you can count this as "Unofficial New Game+ Mass Multiplayer WR". From other sides, it is actually the fastest full game run on release version to day, 59 seconds faster then the fastest official run. So instead of WR you get "fable"/"anecdote".

Still good job!

If we compare it with old runs, we get only 2 what is faster: https://www.speedrun.com/factorio/run/y4wokrdm and https://www.speedrun.com/factorio/run/zx2weq5m. Second one it is the only sub hour full game run today.

If you want to do it faster - i recommend making "Any% rocket rust multiplayer", this category must be the fastest (if not counting not-full game runs like "Steelaxe%").

I have to say, the massive multiplayer + blueprints allowed runs are actually pretty interesting. Theoretically, I imagine the min time is potentially very very low and we haven't plumbed the depths of it because the experts haven't really bothered to focus on it.

The key really is the more people you get involved in run, theoretically the faster it can be. So the limits really are the amount of people you can get involved. Kinda fun when you think about it.

However, I also believe that once you hit bots, they should be used heavily. Coordinating 1000s of bots is far easier than coordinating 1000s of people.

The way to get to bots is likely everyone does hand crafting and hand feeding. Imagine if you had 100 people, all hand crafting gears, inserters, belts and feeding that into red/green assemblers. Each individual would have their own assigned burner miners to draw from.

A subset of people would be responsible for taking the resulting science and both putting the resulting science into labs / chest for belt feeding. Belt feeding is a good way to queue up science in the labs assuming all the labs are already full.

Another group of people would be responsible for increasing lab capacity.
