Hello. I take the liberty to post here on the speedrun.com forum to introduce to you our first game Nekuia. It is a 2D platformer that was designed for the speedrun scene. The player can only move by jumping and only a double-jump can modify the trajectory. The distinctive feature is that the player increases his speed by keeping jumping without a stop. This mechanism allows to improve each level’s time and to use new paths to end them.

Another particularly interesting feature for the speedrun is the “Ultimate” level. It is unlocked once the boss is defeated. It contains all the levels of the world joined end to end to create a unique and huge level. It must be finished in one go but checkpoints are present. You can see a run of the first Ultimate level:

The Steam page contains all the information about Nekuia: http://store.steampowered.com/app/528950/

Please do not hesite to send us your feedbacks, I hope you will like Nekuia.

I tried your game at L-Game 2017 (Livry-Gargan) and it seems clear that the fact that all cycles are random makes it very hard to speedrun. "Tutorial" levels are fairly easy while boss fights can either be very easy in one jump (especially on first boss), or almost impossible unless you grind for a lucky cycle in the last boss fight. I recommend you to have a checkpoint that allows you to somehow save the cycles so when you die you can attempt with the same cycle (since the game is already released maybe a setting toggle-able in the options). Also, the controller stick is too precise : when you are not moving, you can aim. But when you are chaining the jumps with the button mash, you can't really aim precisely and when you are jumping, a small angular variation can screw up your whole run easily as well. Finally, I experienced a bug : When you hit the last boss, sometimes the inputs will not answer for 5-6 seconds and you'll die because of the aiming rockets. I don't think that's intended. I tried glitch hunting as I normally would do on any game : so far it's glitch proof... YET. So good job I am looking forward to try your game again and experience glitch hunting (I tried pause buffering, double input manips) and maybe a speedrun.

^ I hope I'm misinterpreting what you said, because random cycles are HORRIBLE for speedgames. They create a game where different runners are not playing on an even field, and getting the fastest time is more dependent on number of attempts than anything else.

Yep, it's a typo. I meant that it's very hard to get the correct cycles to beat the boss. For example the first boss is just jumping on platforms, but all the platforms are random so if you retry, it's not going to be the same pattern so you are pretty much screwed.
