Optimal route for easy sub-hour runs?

I want to find the best route to the summit but one that I can consistently perform. I can do hyper- and wave-dashes as well as wall bounces. However, I can't corner or spike hop well and I can't demodash at all.

What's the fastest, low-risk way to get to the summit in an Any% run, potentially including B-sides?

I'd recommend watching some runs in the 50ish minute range to see what types of strats they do and the routes they use. As for B-Sides, they're only faster if you do them pretty optimally iirc so I wouldn't recommend them, and either way they aren't easy so it would take a lot of work to get them consistent. Overall sub-hour is pretty easy if you just take it easy and avoid deaths as much as you can.

You can get sub-hour pretty easily by doing safe strats and avoiding large deaths. Make sure you know what you are doing for each room and have a basic idea of where to go (especially in Temple and Reflection).

learn search skip in temple because its easy and saves a lot of time, beyond that there are tutorials on youtube by programmatic that are very good if there's one level in particular you're struggling with but for subhour you should just playthrough each level a few times to get familliar with it and you should get under an hour relatively easily

I recommend you the Benteezy tutorial is old but shows the easiest and alternative strategies. after if you feel more advanced the programmatic tutorials

Hungary

I would recommend you to just play the game until you get confortable with the movement. You don't need strats to beat sub-hour, just don't die too much, I feel like it's much more important. However, if you want some baseline to learn, I can definitely recommend two playlists, that helped me a lot:

Benteezy's Tutorial: This one is a bit more basic, and older than the upcomming recommendation, but definitely consists of easier strats, but also covering a good amount:

If you want to go more advanced off the gate, Programmatic's tutorial is more up to date, and cover's the more faster, newer strats:

Another question is 5B or not (to) B? My personal recommendation is, do not bother with 5B, until you either:

  • Perform consistent ~sub 50's
  • Feel like you can't really improve your time without it anymore 5B has much more advanced movement, also it offers a great timesave, but playing it inconsistently, you can lose way more time in there, whereas in the A counterpart.

Hopefully I could add some more valueable information to what the other's stated before me, good luck with your runs!
