I personally use OBS to stream, I assume you have tried several different methods of capturing the screen within OBS? (Window Capture, Game Capture, Display Capture)
As well as how are you running the game, is it windowed, fullscreen, etc. 

As for Link's Awakening DX you have to ask the people over there about that, and see if it is in the rules for their game. :)
