I know speedrunning has many emulators banned for unfair advantages or slow speed, but I was wandering if a normal playthrough such as blind or casual allows emulators?

As long as you're not submitting it to the leaderboards you can use whatever you want

Well, technically, emulation can be illegal, but I haven't heard of anyone getting into legal trouble because of it.
