Two guys helped complete a single player run

I have this run to verify, but when the main guy running the game has difficulty with a certain part, he tosses the controller to his buddy who completes it for him. It's meant to be a single player category, but it was technically done by two people.

The run is otherwise perfectly legit, but how does the community generally handle this kind of situation?

United States

I would say that the run was done by both players- I see no issues with a tag-team run but some people might.

some runs are done by multiple people, however, if it is for a larger scale game then you may want to address the community of the game before making this decision, if they do not agree with it then follow the group consensus

I'd have to agree with DarQ, this is something more for the Mods of that game's board to look into, but it seem more something to be of its own category then single player if 2 people are running it, we might be running into this more with the Co-pilot mode on the Xbox One

In my opinion, it isn't fair! You may have a hard time in a level. But you have to work hard to get past ot yourself. After all, it is a single-player run.

I agree with SpiderSponge, this is not fair. I would discuss it, and if the video is rejected, you should update the rules to ensure that only one person does the run.

^ That's how I feel too, but most people think a co-op run is infinitely easier than a solo run.

This is a discussion you want with the mods. You can have 2 names on the leaderboards, so that it's open to everyone, but it's also a thing to reject it since it's normally single player. And for that, you have to update the rules.

But yeah, in my opinion. Either allow multiplayer and put both names on the board, reject multiplayer, or go out of your way and make a seperate multiplayer sub-category.

I remember watching Rolfkon doing his Animal Crossing 100% run (48 hourish run). His friend was there, and he was scared to even touch the controller, since that would make it co-op.
