Hello. I'm not the best at introductions, but I'll start by talking about myself a little. I hail from London, I'm in my 20s, and I've been playing games for most of my life, primarily on the PlayStation consoles.

I love games, particularly old-school survival horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Mascot platformers come in at a close second, but generally I don't really play favourites. Those are just the genres that most consistently get my attention.

I became interested in speedruns about 2-3 years ago when I got into watching the Games Done Quick charity events. I don't remember how I found out about A/SGDQ, to be honest, but I was fascinated for sure. I've watched a bunch of speedruns of all sorts of games over the last few years, and I've finally developed an interest in trying to run for myself.

I'm currently interested in trying out running RE games, but I'm really curious about learning whatever. I'm still finding my feet and where I want to focus on for speedrunning. I hope to be an active member of the community.

Yo. First of all, welcome. Personally not a RE runner myself, but I've watched a bunch of RE runs and they seem pretty cool.

Second of all, some general, generic speedrunning advice. Don't give practicing a particularly hard glitch/trick, even if you think that you've got down. The extra practice can and will only help. In case you didn't know, the general best timer for splits and stuff is Livesplit, you can find its website with a quick Google search. When you're doing runs, try as much as possible not to reset, even if there's no chance to PB, mores completed = more experience with the whole route AND more comparisons for splits. Finally, if a game you are running is slightly faster on a version/console that is unavailable to you, don't be discouraged. Either get the version/console, or do the best you can with what you have.

Lastly, you're from London? Cool, I live near, in Essex. But the main point here is that means you posted this thread at 4AM! That's dedication, my friend.
