Retron 5 for speedrunning

I was wondering on this, because I can't easily hookup my SNES to my PVRs (They don't recognize the video even when using a middle man like a VCR). Just wondering if it would be considered emulation, or if it's banned?

Retrons are terrible and you'll regret it.

Get a Framemeister instead.

Given that a Retron is openly several emulators in a box iirc, yes it would be classed as emulation. Whether or not it'd be an emulator that's allowed is another matter, dunno what emulator those things are running under the hood but if you can find out that'd probably give you the answer.

That's a point. The new Retrons really do just have emulators illegally distributed on them.

That is, the company making Retrons is stealing from the people who write the emulators, and profiting from that.

To buy a Retron is to reward them for backstabbing the people who write emulators and share them with the community.
